View Full Version : Between Witr and Fajir
amo_l_oman 26-04-07, 10:07 AM The Sheikh on Huda tv said that some scholars think is completely forbidden to offer voluntary prayers between these two, and given that Isha cannot be prayed after midnite, that means is the time between midnite and Fajir.
And there are other scholars who say it is permissible but not sure they will be accepted .
Anybody knows ?
Angel_Eyes 26-04-07, 11:47 AM I don't think that it is permissible (according to my knowledge) to pray Isha after midnight. After midnight, it becomes the next day so if you want to pray Isha after that time, it wont be accepted as Isha prayer. Know what i mean?

You're talking about Qiyam Al-Lail if I'm not mistaken ..
As far as I know, the prophet PBUH has always observed voluntary prayers at midnight and it is called Qiyam Al-Lail, and most of the scholars agree on that. Moreover, the prophet PBUH also asked us to offer voluntary prayers at midnight till Fajr prayers. So how come some scholars think it's completely forbidden? Based on what?
This really sucks.
amo_l_oman 26-04-07, 12:21 PM but Witr is the last and can be delayed til late, that's ok
problem is if you pray Witr let's say 1am then during night you want to pray more, is that accepted ?
I think you have to sleep after witr for sometime then wake up to pray what you want.

I'm not sure wallah, because as you said nothing should be prayed after Witr, it's the last prayer should be prayed. If you're willing to offer voluntary prayers they should be before praying Witr, and Witr can be prayed after midnight, unlike Isha prayers. But as Ice Tea said perhaps you can sleep after praying Witr, and then wake up to offer voluntary prayers before Fajr.
What was the words of the scholars on Huda TV? That voluntary prayers cannot be offered after Witr? I think I got you wrong. I just noticed that the title says between Witr and Fajr. I thought between Isha and Fajr at first. My bad!
amo_l_oman 26-04-07, 02:28 PM He said he agreed with those who pray and hope is accepted
I think Tea got it right
Sleeping marks the end of the day
So you can pray when you wake up and make them pre-Fajir, which is allowed

Sallam,
What i know is what Shayy bareed had stated above.
As long as you sleep and you wake up before Fajir, then you are entitled to pray what ever prayers you want as long as they are not the core prayers.
It does not matter how long you have slept if it was half an hour or 3 hours, but your eyes must touch the sleep mode.
Especially that Witr is considered to be the last ever prayer of the evening after the Isha the core prayer and the sunnah prayer.
Its the same case in Ramadhan, you can't just wait till just before fajir to pray Qyam Al-liyl, you have to sleep then wake up to pray. This is why you find plenty of people laying and sleeping for a shortwhile in the masjids when they want to perform the 10 last nigths of Ramadhan.

So in that case is it ok also 10 15 min of light sleep like a nap

Bella,
I don't know the length or the duration of the sleep that is required but i am ASSUMING that this can be enough if you had a proper nap/sleep!
Better check with the Immam or Shiekh
Arabian Princess 26-04-07, 07:26 PM As know, it doesnt matter how long you sleep but you need to fall asleep '3afwa, unconious) and then get up ..
LosT_SouL 26-04-07, 11:53 PM Why don't you consider to pary the Witr during that time til the Fajir !!!!
