In our society,, we are sufering from very painful unfair self induced disease. If we want anything,, has to be through wasta,, through high heads,,, regardless of the qualification or experiance. I remember asking for a job,,, and (alhamdulillah) I have a degree qualification,,, but unfortunately without the most impotant condition of "having wasta",, I received no replay ,, even a regratable rejection,, and the post was given to someone else who had more important wasta.
Dears,,,
When are we going to get rid of this problem??? everywhere,, in hospitals,, in wizaraat,, in shirikaat,, even in scholaships (be3ethaat) the wasta is playng the major role. the well-know family,, well-income always abusing the regulations and using Wastaat. And meskeen al-meskeen.
I wish and dream (Ihope the dream will come true) to see our Oman one day dealing with all Omanis equally,,, regardless their backgroud or Wastaaat,,, To see every one has right ot feel fair,,, and al-haq liman yastahiq.
Or what do you say???????

Well ... talking about wasta ... I guess you are very right in all what you have just said . I can't argue with you nor can i not agree with you . Its just the other way round ... I strongly agree with your opinion about "wasta". Its just funny .. as even those who are not actually "omanis" they are yet very much familer with the word "Wasta".

We need something called "equal" in this country . There is too much of wasta too much of not being fair at all. You could find someone with a very high certificate and good qualifications yet wouldn't really get a job why? becuase he doesn't know those big head ppl which is called "wasta" than that person is not in the position to get the job. Its just a pitty .. to find many omanies who are very much qualified for a job with a good background in schooling not to be able to get a job .

To be honest with you,I have seen so much locals moving away to a different country. And I guess I don't blame them at all. If in there own country they can't seem to get a job, and they are able to get it in a different country. Why live here and leave your chance to go away. Its very true as its not a very easy move to do but sometimes life is ain't fair at all and you ought to believe on facts.

Well, what I am asking for .. and I guess many ppl out there will ask the same is to have fairness in this country in order everyone to live better. We depend on you if you make it bad than nothing will work out .. the less of "wasta" is actually the better for our ppl.

Don'nt you agree, that, every one has to be counted for their position,,, and judged for their shortcomings,,, or prohibiting and preventing who deserves to get his/her right,, and give it to someone else by wasta.???. and when I say everyone ,, I mean everyone,, from the heads to common citizens. Justice to be for all and from all. Punishment has to be firm for those who use their positions and names in miscarage the right, and prevent the justice to whoever deserve it....

You were asking me how could we possibly get rid of this misjustice?? Well let me see... I am very much sure that its not that easy nither is it hard. We need those who have big positions to be very fair.

Why do you really have to give a job to someone whos not at all qualified for it ... just becuase his related to you or his one of your best friend doesn't mean you should make him/her be in a position which is never really ment for them but ment for someone whos very much qualified for it .

I very much agree that everone has to be counted for their position,,, and judged for their shortcomings or prohibitin. Being fair and give what each person deserve I believe is the right thing to do .

We said a lote ... but it seems that very very few who actually listen !!

since oman was born in the 70th until today
wasta was always there its a history it will always be there.
well impotrant position minimum qalification.

Guys..

Myself I don't see that Wasta in small positions is a problem, but when it comes to big or huge positions then it is a real problem.
Examples:
1) Having two brothers as ministers..!!!!
2) Having 50% of the ministers from royal family.!!!!!!!!
3) Having three brothers as top ministers..!!
4) Having a minister for 25 years in the same position.!!!!!
5) Promoting one man from manager in one of the Wali's office to be a minister of the most important ministry (Civil Service).!!!

Next time, I will state some examples of things which are impossible to be done without Wasta...
