Depression? I've been feeling depressed alot lately! I tried reading holy quran and get active with alot of things but nothing is helping me! Everyday seems to be getting darker than the one before! I think I need help!:(

Everyone goes in a depression phase & it may be dangerous if not tolerated. Real friends & family can help out, just do not curl yourself in the corner of darkness. I think I need help!:( If you think it's real depression, not just a bad mood, then get professional help. People trained in these things know how to tap into what is bothering you, or what is happening in your life that is making you get to this point. Family and close friends can help, of course, but not like a professional can. So keep them close to you for support, but seek help. Also, in the meantime, try to keep yourself occupied, get a jiigsaw puzzle, do some exercise, change your routine a bit. And talk. Talk about what's on your mind with someone you trust. Back when I was in my early teens, I was somewhat of an anti social not to mention I was paranoid about psychiatric help (I probably still am) and didn't trust anyone even my parents.. mostly because they made me angry countless times.. but anyways the only thing that helped me out was pride. It incredibly boosts your self esteem and makes you think more positively about yourself. Don't depend solely on this remedy as you should also do other things such as sports. And don't rely too much on pride since it may eventually turn to arrogance.. TripleTee 18-02-07, 05:07 PM to combine what was said. your options: -talk to someone as fengy suggested. or things I do: -as spirit mentioned, I do write it down sometimes>> depends on the extent of my depression... -I listen to music a lot. -get creative and make myself busy.(concentrating on something else... if I'm happy with the results... it will trigger "pride" as MK mentioned... and being proud does make you see things differently... however to me usually the best solution is: -find the source of your depression and work your way to solve it. BUt first know what is stressing you. if you could find a solution to that or avoid it better, if you cant,seek some help from closest people to you, be carefull not to take it out on someone who dont deserve to be a victim of your stress. Pygmalion 09-03-07, 11:32 AM Change your lifestyle. Try something new. It may not feel good when you decide it but it may do so once you are there. You may like to do trials and errors sometimes. One thing never do, is to stay in your room by yourself and doing nothing! I personally don’t like to express my bad feelings to someone unless he can help, it might not be the right approach but one thing I do is to call a friend to go to the movies, play cards, billiard or whatever. I think I need help!:( *1-Start a gratitude journal. *2-Mix with people who have and project a grateful and positive attitude. *3-Watch comedy movies, as much as you can. A warm tub while reading a book also helps alot. Try to fart while you're in the tub, it takes the depression out of you as something else goes out :p My last try would be, or rather a question "Has somebody just dumped you lately?" I know how do you feel because I had the same problem 2 years ago .. Tried so many things .. I tried o watch movies all the time like 4 to 6 a day Until I get addicted to movies even the nite before the exams I had to watch one @least ... I did not know the reason @first but as I get back home and talk to my family and friends . I noticed that I miss the way I used to live with it and How I used to make the tome move when I'm near my beloved people and talking to them is the best solution .. Also if you think too much about the future and your study which affect everything in your life then try to forget about it for the recent time and try to get back on the track and keep the good work .. Go there stay till you feel the heat of the sun. -Just when the sun is hot 2 hours after sunrise, go take a swim in "Qurom" beach, just before it is crowded. -Go home take a shower, and eat someting fresh (an apple, orange ...etc), drink some milk, and/or cup of tea or coffee. Now you are ready to go out. -Then go to the greenhouse (plenty are there in Seeb) and by 08:00 they will be all open, and pick tow or three new plants and put them where the sun shines in your house. -Now pray Zuhor and read "Surat Yousif' and by that time it will be one hour before noon 11:00am. -Call some of your best friends and see if you can meet in the shopping moll (plenty are there). If none of them is free, take yourself and go. Try to buy something that you didn't buy before. A candle, a water fountain (small one)....etc. -Comeback home and see if your spouse/Friend/brother have the ability to go lunch somewhere that provides Italian food (yaaaaaKh) and try for something non-sea-food. -Now after lunch, go to your house garden and under the tree where you swing is located try to find a book. Read till you have a nice nap. Don't read something that needs a brain, read something primitive and fictional. -When you wake up it will probably be 3:00, then you can check ES for what is now ! loool -Take another Hot-Chocolate and wear something sporty, put some perfume and wear your jugging boots. -Go around 04:30 to the Aziba beach (little isolated) and make a nice jogging (first the sun in your back, and when coming back again the sunset will be in your face). -Sit for sometime on a rock and watch the sunset fully (don't leave before sunset). -Now go home, take a shower and pray Maghrib. Then read "Surat Al-Kahf" -Now it will be around 07:00pm, go outside somewhere in the open land just at the last Shell petrol pump in your way to air port. Get off the car, sit in your foldable chair and drink a can of Pepsi while listening to the radio (buy one for 3-4 Rials ... Listen to the English FM for minimum an hour, while watching the Jet plans landing (you will be at the tale of the airport). -Then around 08:30 -09:00 pm, go and watch TV, (I recommend some program about cooking). Try to find how they make it and make a list for tomorrow's plan making a horrible deserts for the family. -10:00 - 10:30 will sure be bed time, so just pray 2 rak3as for Allah to bless you and to make your tomorrow a successful day. -Read a book about Islam in a some romantic light (it brings the passions to a far extent), so you can read about Omar Ibn Al-Khattab, or the book named "Ryado Al-Saliheen" "The Yards of Virtuous". -Read some do2aa from one of the many books about do2a you say before sleep. -Close your eyes, and think that tomorrow will be a new day with a new sun, new sky, new sea and a new Charm! BrAiKi 15-03-07, 03:47 AM I get depressed n I dunno whats the reason I just sit alone and think deeply, try to remember what happend recently that made me depressed & once I know the reason, half of the problem is solved.. Now the solution to each depression is different, depending on what is the reason. Generally, a long walk on the beach alone will help big time |
