Dr. Abdullah Hakim Quick is the first American graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia. He has M.A. and a Ph.D. degrees from the University of Toronto, Canada. He has traveled extensively in the the Caribbean and Central America and throughout the Muslim World. He is the author of several scholarly articles, and lectured and researched in over 29.
Dr. Abdullah Hakim Quick visiting Oman and he will be giving lectures as follows:
Lecture at Masjed Al-Rahman on Monday 12.02.07 (After Ishaa prayer) from 20:00 to 21:00 "Muslims in the Slavery period and resistance to oppression" This lecture focuses on reviving Islam in the hearts of Muslims. It looks at the crisis in the Muslim world and encourages Muslims to improve character, build strong family values, invest in education and strive to solve social and environmental problems of the world.
Lecture at The Grand Masjed on Tuesday the 13/2/2007 from 19:45 to 21:00 "Islam in the Americas before Columbus" This is a lecture based on the beginning of the book "Deeper Roots". It is a historical lecture with a power point projection that challenges the myth of Columbus. Using reports from Muslim geographers like Al Masudi, scientific evidence, traces in the Americas, this talk will conclusively prove that Muslims were in America before Columbus.
