well, i heard once my professor telling me that these days all the planes we ride(long distance rides) are on auto pilot and the pilot is there just to check on that everything is OK and also the passengers wouldnt be scared that we are riding a plane which is riding itself

Not all, only the modern ones.

There is one airplane that can not be landed by any man, therefore the computer does it all, with lazer and x-rays : it is the airbus Beluga:

This is the first time I see this plane

It is used to transport wings made in Broughton (N.Wales) to Airbus factories in Toulouse and Spain. I've seen the airplane take-off..check my blog for more info =p

I guess all modern planes have autopilot there, and the pilot is there so that people dont get scared when they hear that the airplane is flying on its own, pilot-less

Yes but if it is like so, then the piolt should make more action like performing a "sho sho wa wa" dance or something so that to bring the attention of the passengers that he is thair and in full shape!

The important thing is auto-piloting of an aircraft is possible. But obviously not programmed by the would-be pilotier :lift:

This tells us the 9/11 incidences could have been thru these means. Otherwise, how did the so called Atas & Co manage with all restrictions on the ground ?
