Why every pleasure is limited? No matter how nice it is, as soon as you hold it in your hand it fades out! The new car, the new house, the new jet plane...etc. Even sexual pleasure is limited in time. Even the pleasure of food ends up as soon as you fill your stomack. The beautiful scene is no more beautiful, like the ocan from my vella or the garden of my house, my decorations...

Why pleasure is limited in this life?

What a sad attitude, i think. For me pleasure is never limited - i still get a smile every day waking up to sun, seeing my husband and daughter alive and well and happy, driving my own car (first brand new car i owned), looking at the ever changing mountains, cooking for my family and friends - i could go on and on. I think all life is a pleasure, maybe because i nearly lost my life, so i take pleasure in everything now and try to make the most of every day and every new (and old) experience.

I think you missed the point Bambi... I am not talking about the doom of life, I am talking about the reason that pleasure is limited! See we are talking more deeper than you think, like give it another try and think of any of the pleasures that you have in your life. Don't you see that it has a limitation? I mean no matter your car is brand new, sure after sometime you feel "flat" about it. I can see that you are not sensing the thing I am trying to give you here and that is the problem in comunicating such emotions.

Try to see it from a phylosophical point of view. Look at it from the top and not from the inside. Humans were plagued with getting used to things around them. This is in my point of view is a limitation isn't it? yes from here you should start thinking of what I said about the limitation of happiness...

I won’t say to you that you are trying to see the pleasure form the sad side and trying not to enjoy the pleasure of the moments because all we do the same sometimes !

BUT I will go with you in this …

What I think is that we are human, and human were created with the boring sense !

If you got the unlimited pleasure of something like for ever, do you think you will like that feeling ! …. You need sometimes to lose your pleasure in things to have the chance to miss it and need to get that pleasure back some how

I hope I got your point here !

I agree with storm, we as human beings lose interest easily once we have what we need in our hands we lose interest. It ALWAYS happen with me in everyday's life, and I think it's something normal and storm said it better!

When the brain is limited, then everything else becomes.

Is the old story of glass half empty or half full :
those who see it always half empty will never be happy, too busy to complain.

Sure you got it right, but still you didn't tell me why do you think humans were made in such a way? Logically it has a point, right?! We could feel the pleasure from day one of possetion till the very end where we leave this life! But this is not the case...so...why? Why do you think it is like so?

There's an old saying I heard once...It goes, 'What passes on the mouth with all its lovely taste, becomes dirt after a while.'
Every pleasure is limited because the world itself is limited and because our nature simply asks for too much...The Qura'an taught us, 'Life is only the satisfaction of pride' and that's about it. It's TEMPORARY and that's why it becomes extremely tasteless after some time...

And if you think about the beginning of mankind, you'd go: Adam did us a favour with his mistake. I wouldn't want to live forever in Paradise without deserving it. It would've been quite boring...

Perhaps the only pleasure that one can keep forever is love...I mean, lucky people love their spouses forever.

If you got the pleasure and happiness from day one till end of your life, you will got use to it and with time you won’t appreciate the moments and it’s feeling and this isn’t the point of being pleasured ! ( well at least this is what is it for me )

The human by nature is greedy! The feelings of these things are limited because he will be looking for more, & more of other things.

Everything beyond limit gets boring by time..
That's why we should balance our desires and our needs :)

I don't see pleasure having limit, but I can see the clarity of Haroundub's gist of the kuwaition. However, some of things that give pleasure infact goes to desire's 'satisfaction' category and others that gives sensual pleasure must reach their limit, otherwise what should have been pleasure turns the opposite of it. It is human nature to seek pleasure and such pleasure varies in nature as well. Some can experience pleasure by owning a piece of bread whilst other may not experience pleasure owning ten times that piece of bread. So how do we quantify 'pleasure' Ooops ! am lost, Haroundub are you somekind of a phylosopher ?

Why is you kuwaition entitled 'Why?" and not for egzample 'why climax are short lived ?'
