I bet ya'll heard about Blu-Ray already, and guess what? It has already been cracked by some hacker. Blu-Ray was supposed to be powerful, and nearly impossible to crack. Many companies have worked togethere to develope such technology, which includes Sony, Panasonic, Philips, LG, Pioneer and PC-based players from Alienware, Sony, Dell, and LG.
In less than 24 hours, all of that work have been gone to waste.

If you still didnt know, Xbox's HD-DVD have also been cracked by the same ppl. This could be good news to us, but in the same time such things will prevent huge gaming companies from creating any more titles, just like whts happening with the psp..

Now its only a matter of time before copies of PS3 & Xbox360's games and movies start spreading out world wide.. Wht do you think? Does Sony still stand a chance in saving itself and the PS3 from this disaster? I read on arabnokia that Warner Brothers already announced their estimation of losses, in Movies category.

companies ALWAYS say the same thing(NO PIRATING OR WHATEVER) and EVENTUALLY the medium gets cracked no matter what ! :p

This happened earlier than expected.. And lol within less than 24 hours!! Very nice, I don't think they'll stop developing games, many will buy originals anyway for games that are super cool..

Having a MGS2 original for example is definatly worth it, same thing for Final Fantasy X.. And here I'm talking about PS2, PS3 games are much better..!

As far as I know, after the blu ray was immediately released, it was cracked but it doesn't mean you can copy the ps3 games you want because of DRM. Instead what you get is an empty CD where you can fill it up with all the data you want.

Well Morpha, cracking it is the first step for getting cheap CDs :D

You see, the companies that announced their losses are companies that produce Movies. Cause if the issue was with games, ppl will be forced to buy orginals to be able to play online and all. Playing online need s a unique serial code and all.

But, in the case of movies. Its all about copying the movie, watching it and then copying it again and passing it on..

thats what I always say when I read such things :XD: no matter how hard the major companies try to develop such technologies, hackers always find a way to decrypt it.
I don't think PS3 will face the same problems as the PSP, I think things will go just fine just like PS2 after having all these pirated games, since pirated games are also gona be sold!
