I know this topic isn't really of any great relevance. And it sure as hell, doesn't serve a higher purpose

But, I promised Kamakazy, that I'll come visit English Sabla and see what its all about...

I noticed one thing though, some members use similar nicks on Oman Forum.. At first, I thought it was a coincidence..But,then I noticed that the same nicks post the same topics in both forums, with slightly different titles... Why is that? I mean, is it cause you want different opinions? Or are the crowds which frequent both forums very different?

It would be great if the same people frequent both forums, cause then, there will be a greater exchange of information and opinions.

I haven't had a chance to read lots of topics, but, from what I have see so far,it doesn't look like you are having too much trouble moderating it dudes... http://www.omania.net/evip/ubb/smile.gif

yup, i know exactly what you mean, about the topics being the same and the same members here and in OmanForum. but there is a big difference in the response and the number of response. i mean, we don't get all the hate and insults like you guys get (sorry to say this) http://www.omania.net/evip/ubb/wink.gif that what makes our life easier!

but this Sablah is still young, unlike OmanForum. that what makes it a hidden place for ppl to post. but like OmanForum, the hits says it all http://www.omania.net/evip/ubb/smile.gif

hello there oceandream..am regesterd to that foroum too but till now i didnt post any subject there..why? cause yet (Till now) i feel that this place is better
well at once i was thinking to leave this place and travel to more improved place..But at the last momment i changed ma mind cause some1 told me that improvments will be done to the english sablah VVV soon!
till now am waiting for this and i will keep bothering mooderators for it till one day my voice in this place,disapears

So, you guys did notice the similarities in topics, ha? But, like you say, the kind of replies, and quantity of replies, does differ.

That doesn't mean one forum is better than the next, but, like you said, OmanForum HAS been around for ages and I guess it gets more exposure on the local scale.

I visited oman forum,and with my all respect for you and people there, I didn't like it and I was feeling uncomfortable in many ways ,especially while reading some replies just look like ,,,,,, ok no need.
However, all these places are made to educate people and take oman higher and higher.

Second of all, OmanForum, just like every other forum, has its share of both good and bad publicity. But, regardless of what many say, ppl just can't help but go back to it, time and time again..

I admit, many topics found there, don't please alotta ppl, but, I guess taste is a personal thing.

A forum caters to as many tastes as possible.

What makes a forum?

The answer is: Members.

Why do people join forums?

Some join forums just to read.

Some to post topics concerning subjects that they find interesting.

Some to look for information amongst fellow members.

And then again, some join to just kill time and maybe have some laughs at the expense of others.

See what I am getting at?

When you go to a forum, you should expect to find a little bit of everything. You should also accept the fact, that what you might find repulsive and a waste of time, others might actually find funny.

As a moderator, thats what makes it tuff.
Sometimes, a topic is posted. I check it out, and then think, this person deserves to be shot http://www.omania.net/evip/ubb/smile.gif

But, all I can do, is watch out over it, and accept the fact, that others seem to think its entertaining.

PLUS, I is hope the topic dies a peaceful death. And most of the time, thats what happens...

If you don't like something, don't bother reading it. Stck to what you like,, and you'll find it makes life much either. (ofcourse this ni3ma is only for members, as moderators have to read everything)

Thank for your reply : I know I should suspect to see any thing in forums like that.
But the problem is that if someone feels uncomfortable in a place ,he should leave otherwise he may make mistakes ( like writing replies which make him look small in his own eyes ) which I try never to do for my self http://www.omania.net/evip/ubb/smile.gif

i go to all the forums (english ones) here in Oman, coz all of them reflect something unique init. we might not have as many members as omanforum does but hey, they are the best. just like one big happy family (e.g. Thug4Life) http://www.omania.net/evip/ubb/wink.gif

i got to meet Saeed yesterday (Sun 15/10) and i sat on his head trying to make him do something with this joint, but poor him, he got loads of problems. like don't u c that the server gives out errors sometimes? LOol, Saeed gets 70,000+ hits a day. how would the poor server handle that? it should be upgraded but everything has its cost!

but even though i will still sit on his head and make his life a nightmare for the sake of my family. i will bug him till the day he makes some changes here. i will do it so much that once he sees me walking to him he would turn back and run for it. http://www.omania.net/evip/ubb/smile.gif
