A great number of DS games feature online gameplay features, Mario Kart and Tetris feature a versus mode, FFIII has an online messaging network, Castlevania PoR has a coop mode and a shop mode where you can sell the items you found in the game for game money that you could use to buy other items.

Have you had any online experience on the DS?

I originally had a problem with my wireless router, but after configuring the settings manually on my DS, I managed to get it to work properly. Marvel has been saying that his router is not compatible, did you try manual configuration?

I didn't try it yet...don't you need a wireless connection for this? if so then I don't have that.

yeah I experienced online gameplay on the DS. It was very fun.. It's drawbacks however is that it takes a long while for the lobby to choose a random opponent (usually between a minute or so) and another drawback is the idea for friend codes... boy i hate those... remember those old NES games that had a long code as a password for a level and you had to write those down? well its similar to that concerning the DS.. this is Nintendo's way of defending children or casual players from hardcore gamers that just love to piss people off and have you throw the DS in anger..

Games I've played online were Mario kart, metroid prime hunters, tetris and Star fox command... honestly the games were awesome except for mario kart since a lot of people cheated on it and when you'd get close to the finishing line, they would close the DS so that the win doesn't count for me and the loss wouldn't count for them >_>

The DS itself needs a wireless router for it to play.. if you don't have one, nintendo has a wifi usb connector which you plug into your computer and gives off a wireless signal for the DS and the Wii to work online.. upto 4 users can use the same one..

Just like what MK said, you can get the USB Wifi adapter if you do not have a wireless router at home. I only have two games with online gameplay Mario Kart and Castlevani PoR. Those are actually my first proper online gameplay experience and they were quite fun. I do not have proper internet at my current place of residences, so I do not have the opportunity to go online with my DS all the time.

only if you can give me the steps you did which might help me to get it to work and look if i did something wrong in it and i'll be thankful :)

My wireless router was not listed among the compatible ones, what I did was that I logged into my router admin panel http://192.168.1.1/ and checked the logged in devices, I saw my DS on there (I was trying the auto connect at that time.) I clicked on some thing to make sure the IP given to my DS does not change every time I log in, and then entered all the information on there manually to the internet settings for the DS game I was playing.

What did you try to do to connect?

i did almost the same, i've seen my ds there in the router with an ip address and it get connected but at the end it lose the connectivity while trying to connect and i didn't try to make the ip stay the same....

by the way i got Linksys WAG54GX2

and i get this for the ds in the router panel

NintendoDS ip 192.168.1.106 mac 00:00:00:00:00:00 exp 86272
but my mac address isn't the right one cause when i enter the option i can see the right mac address it's not zeros

about manually entering the information to the ds i don't have enough experiance in it so i don't think i did the right thing there.
