View Full Version : Downloads?!
Endure Whisper 11-01-07, 10:18 AM I am having troubles downloading attachments from my inbox!! Well not only from my inbox, but also when someone sends me files via MSN. I can download small files such as pictures and texts, but not video or audio!!
Whenever I click on "Download", I get a window to choose "Open" or "Save". I tried both, but until it reaches 99% complete, it stops downloading!
Any solutions?
i'm not sure but did you try deleting the cookies and temporary files.....and some antiviruses when it reaches 99% it scan what you've downloaded and if it got anything wrong it will stop it....so what kind of antivirus you got it might be the one but again i'm not sure....
DeSerTDesTroYeR 11-01-07, 12:15 PM 99%, it does sound like something your antivirus or firewall is doing as Marvel said. Which one do you have installed?
Endure Whisper 11-01-07, 12:42 PM I use Kaspersky Anti-Virus but I have disabled the functionality of scanning the received files and still doesn't work!
DeSerTDesTroYeR 11-01-07, 03:27 PM The scanning in messenger you mean? Do you have windows live safety scanner installed as well ?
Endure Whisper 11-01-07, 03:44 PM Yes, the one you can set from the MSN window by clicking on Tools -> Options -> File Transfer.
But I don't have windows live safety scanner installed.

Around 200 KB!
Kamakazy 12-01-07, 06:33 PM you are able to get 200kb file in less than a min...
maybe your net connection is loss during that time...
what operating system are you on? (Windows XP, etc)
what type of connection are you on? (ADSL, etc)
wireless? (yes/no)
when did you notice this happening? (after installing a program, changing settings, etc)
Endure Whisper 12-01-07, 06:47 PM what operating system are you on? Windows XP Pro
what type of connection are you on? ADSL
wireless? yes
when did you notice this happening? my laptop is new, I never went online until after I finished installing all programs, anti-virus, went online to check for updates, and then started downloading!
As a matter of fact, when my anti-virus was expired, I tried installing a free trial version until I receive a new keygen, it did not allow me to install it either!
Kamakazy 12-01-07, 06:52 PM do you have administrative rights to your laptop?
what error message did you get when you tried to install it?
also, how did your anti virus expire if its a new laptop?
Endure Whisper 13-01-07, 05:39 PM do you have administrative rights to your laptop?
yes
what error message did you get when you tried to install it?
tried to install what?? the anti virus? if that's what you meant, then no error was displayed, but the same window (99% complete) and then stops.
also, how did your anti virus expire if its a new laptop?
I used the same anti-virus that I've been using on my old laptop, I mean, I installed the same software directly from the old CD.
Kamakazy 13-01-07, 11:41 PM hard to pin point where the error is...
try reinstalling windows, otherwise last resort format. :)
Endure Whisper 14-01-07, 02:45 PM Thanks for trying to help!
