There has been a talk since this morning.. that Abeer Taneer the Lebanies English FM & FM Shabab (Arabic) host have passed away this morning while being admitted in the hospital...

They say she couples of months back had a bypass surgery... U know the 1 they tie the tummy for weight lost... & it seemed that since then she was having side effects & was admitted in the hospital till she passed away this morning..........

I didnt read or hear a such thing. I guess its a rumor.

My mum told me about it, she got the news from my aunt. Saying the same reasons which you mentioned in your post.
Rumor? Why would someone make up such a rumor? It's sad..

It actually is pretty true, Abeer Taneer passed away yesterday morning for the same reasons Tiny mentioned, the side effects of the operations she had.. So sad, allah yer7amha

I heard that she passed away yesterday too. And i was listening to the FM in the car yesterday and they were playing music and everything as if nothing happened. Shouldn't they have done a memorial thing for her in the FM at least?

But I guess it was only out in Observer.. Times of Oman didnt have it... not sure bout any Arabic papers...

It doesn't matter how she died, what matters is that she has passed. It's was so sad to hear the news and worst to know that she has been suffering for a while and I had not known even though I was a close friend of her family before they left Oman last year. She was a very kind and helpful person. I will never forget her, particularly because I spent the afternoon of the 9/11 with her in the FM studio watching the events unfold in New York on CNN while we were supposed to be recording an interview which she graciously agreed to do with us to promote a website we were working on.

May Allah have mercy on her soul, and give strength to her family in coping with their loss.
