From what I know ACCA or CPA is more in demand than CMA.
My question to you is since you graduated with a degree in finance why don't you do a CFA instead of going for an accounting certification?

Thanks Muscati … well as for CFA yes it will be a better and most suitable certification for my finance background but I am keeping long run in my mind and what will open doors for me …CFA has limited career options ....what do you think ???! :(
i have no idea about these..
what i know is that my cousin who is a finance graduate started doing ACCA as adviced by his superiors at work..

Fahad could you pls get more info from your cousin... from where he is doing his ACCA and if he received any exemptions ...i will really appreciate :)
I have asked for details..
he is a finance graduate and has done the CMA. He will be doing the CFA soon.
He took CMA because he is targeting North American Companies...
Regarding ACCA he said that if you are a finance graduate then you won't have exemption and you have to do the full course.

As far as I know, both are the same to certain limit CMA ( USA ) and ACCA ( UK )
My friend is studying now ACCA and she find it more useful and popular where another friend studying CMA and find is better. So it much depends on your style.
But to be honest that ACCA is more wanted in the market.
CFA is much in to finance, and as you said you have a finance backgournd, I think it will help you much to start with CFA.

thanks Strom :) ... i have intention to take CMA and CFA ....i think since the other two certification are very flexible in terms of examinations _ take it whenever you are ready_ I can do it later …for now i will go with ACCA …i have submitted my paper for registration with ACCA ....
