Lostprophets got together in late 1997 in Pontypridd, South Wales. They were a group of friends who were somewhat tired of the same old sound the “alternative” scene was providing.
The band was made up of several different members, some play on and off, while 5 stayed all the way through. The band as we know it now are made up of 5 members. Ian Watkins on vocals, Lee Gaze on lead guitar, Mike Lewis on rhythm guitar, Stuart Richardson on bass and Jamie Oliver on decks/backing vocals and samples.
Each member bringing to Lostprophets different musical tastes ranging from hair metal to emo to break beat. Mike Chiplin on drums and Jamie Oliver on decks/backing vocals and samples. 3 rough demos later they were getting positive reviews in the music press, they released their debut album “thefakesoundofprogress”, recorded in a small Welsh studio for a measly £5000. It exploded onto the scene. Then Sony took notice.
I only liked last train home until they brought out this new album...and the latest album is excellent
They do look like emos, but they're not...wallah
Ever heard of them? If yes what are your favourite songs?
I will look for songs to download and samples..
