ok i gotta make a huge decission
the other day i've gone with my mom to the dentist coz she had an appointment so after she was done the doctor checked my teeth and he suggested me to have braces done for my teeth
and since they aren't very bad he said it will for be maximum for 8 months i'm worried about how my look is gona be :os but i'm also anxious to have perfect teeth after all

They make your mouth buldge out, and hurt so much, thats what i heard.

food getting stuck ? soon you'll figure out a way to eat and keep your braces as clean as they were !

braces are attractive.. now im not that fussy about a gurl wearing braces or not .. but i remmeber when i was around 18 years old.. I used to say that I will make my wife wear them on our wedding :p lol

I think you should go for them. You are young, and you better have them on now rather than when you are in your 30s. Also, think about the perfect smile you will achieve by the end of it ;). A piece of advice: don't wear the transparent ones, because when you get food stuck on them, it will show so much more than the normal ones.

I say go for it. You might not like the way you look at first, but it's only a matter of months before you achieve a perfect smile. I had braces on for a little over a year. They didn't hurt much, I managed to keep them clean, and the aftermath was wonderful. Actually, I got so used to them I felt like a part of me was missing after I had them taken off. :p

I don't think that there's anything wrong with wearing braces..I actually think it's cute. what's bad is to have messed up teeth so I say go for it.

It's like jailing your teeth.

I had them! lol, I LOVED THEM! they told me I won't be able to eat freely, but even mum noticed that I began eating even more when I had them :p

By the way, there are two types, and one of them can be transparent!
But its abit expensive... If you really cant stand that people see them on you then go for the transparent one :)

I won't be adding anything new to what the other members have said. :) You're lucky it's only 8 months (most cases I've known were 1 year+), it's just a matter of time until you get used to them being a part of you, and also a matter of time until everyone around you gets used to your new cute look. :cute:
All in all you should certainly go for them, the sooner the better.

Just a word of advice, try to "learn" to like your dentist visits after you've put them on. ;)

Make sure after your 8 month brace face time and when your braces are out that you wear your night time braces, these are really important if you dont then all that hard work and patience will be useless as ur teeth go back the way they were...

I wore braces for 2 years when I was younger, and although I love the smile I have now, I hated wearing them. Never again!

I think it looks okay on kids or teens, but once you're older it looks kind of awkward :os

but those braces on the back r only placed after u finish the front ones.. for the teeth to stay in place n not move after removing the primary ones.. i had those backbraces for 5 years :p

:XD: My teeth are perfectly fine but I wore braces for a whole semester that are made for the look only, it covered my smile only, so basically it doesn't do anything to my teeth. You see I love braces like f**k and I do think they are hot, cute & sexy! hehe :XD:

yep/// agrre with AP, get them done and i think it took my younger sis about 2days to get used to them pushing the teeth(apparently you do feel it) and maybe a week to talk more or less normal with them on..... hey look at the brighter side....... youl have a perfect smile :)

I had braces at an early age for 3 whole years. I got them because i had 'rabbit' teeth (horrible teeth with the space between my two front teeth). I hated wearing them and complained about it all the time, but It was so worth it! There's a HUGE difference to what my teeth used to look like. My teeth are near perfect now :)

the mouth full of spit and wet all the time while talking or laughing because of the metals and plastic rubber is not a HOT thing!

Children always questioning your mouth or simply screaming afraid from it ... it is never a HOT thing either!

the best thing about braces is that they keep ur mouth all clean and ur teeth extremely white! coz u brush them all the time not just twice a day like everybody usually does :p so this is an advantage about it
