View Full Version : An Actor & Roles Similarity
NiGhTFaCe 13-11-06, 03:53 AM Have you ever noticed that sometimes when you see this specific actor doing this specific role in a movie can remind you of him/her doing the same role or something close to that in another movie?!
I noticed this & I dont know if you will agree with me. But, let me give examples of what I have noticed & I am not talking about sequels for sure.
Johnny Depp in "Sleepy Hollow" & "From Hell". Showing him as a man who is investigating these crimes/events at a period of time in the history, not the current time.
Matthew McConaughey in "How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days" & "Failure to Launch". In these two movies, Matthew was playing this role of having relationships with girls who came to fall in love with him, because they were trying something on him. I might add the movie "Two for the Money", because in the three movies he showed his interest in sports.
I might come to mention more examples when I remember, so do you have anything to add?!
Rossonero 13-11-06, 04:15 AM all 007 movies and the actors acting there ;)
NiGhTFaCe 13-11-06, 04:21 AM Rossonero, you are talking sequels. I dont mean that.
Rossonero 13-11-06, 04:30 AM Then we should mention Jackie Chan, Stevan Segal etc. same type of movies

NiGhTFaCe 13-11-06, 10:10 PM Okay people, put examples!
NiGhTFaCe 17-11-06, 07:57 AM Here is another example,
Scarlett Johansson in "Match Point" & "Scoop", she doing the role of An American girl in UK. In the 1st movie she was an actress, where in the 2nd she mentioned being one.
Meg ryan usually plays romantic roles who first hates the guy then ends up loving him (french kiss and kate & Leopold and even You've got mail) so I suppose those roles are similar to each other.

Okay, this is a good example. I noticed it too.
Morgan Freeman as a detective in 'Kiss the girls' and 'Seven'. I'm sure he was a detective in another movie as well.

You can add "Along Came A Spider", even though it was the same character from "Kiss the Girls", the detective Alex Cross.

NiGhTFaCe 02-12-06, 06:35 PM Jennifer Aniston - "The Break up" aand "Friends with Money"
I watched the 1st one only, so what makes the role of the 1st similar to the 2nd?!!
TripleTee 02-12-06, 06:40 PM you know who else acts extremely the same in almost all his movies?... Jim Carey. (sp)
eL3yo0oN 02-12-06, 07:55 PM Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribean and Edward Scissorhands .. he was weird.
NiGhTFaCe 02-12-06, 07:56 PM Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribean and Edward Scissorhands .. he was weird.
Johnny Depp does weird roles most of the time.
Johnny Depp do weird roles, I agree he does many similir roles.
I almost saw Meg Ryan in the same role !
Rush Hour and Shanghai Noon. Basically, all Jackie Chan's roles are identical, but in these two movies he tries to save a royal female. I did actually notice this while rewatching Rush Hour some days ago.
NiGhTFaCe 06-12-06, 03:30 PM Yeah Snooky, this is another one.
NiGhTFaCe 11-12-06, 05:18 AM Robin Williams in "One Hour Photo" & "The Final Cut", a guy who works with images in somehow.

Senorita 16-12-06, 08:07 PM Well, here's two more;
Ryan Gosling who comes out as a suicidal college student in "Stay" and also in "Murder By Numbers" as high school student, plans to commit suicide eventually.
Cuba Gooding Jr. an African American who's in the navy and strives to reach this position that he desires in "Men Of Honor" and "Pearl Harbor".
NiGhTFaCe 16-12-06, 08:11 PM Alright, I watched the four movies you have mentioned & I have to agree.
Senorita 27-02-07, 09:26 PM Another one,
Vincent Cassel's role in "Birthday Girl" and "Derailed" has a sort of similarity. He's a foreign guy who's part of a scheme and is the boyfriend of the girl who's part of the scheme as well.
NiGhTFaCe 22-04-07, 07:07 AM Tommy Lee Jones doing the role of Chief/Deputy Marshal Samuel Gerard going after fugitives in "The Fugitive" & "U.S. Marshals".
pixie girl 22-04-07, 02:39 PM Kate Beckinsale in Underworld 1&2 and Van Helsing. Both about vampires and werewolves.
Also in Pearl Harbour and The Aviator, her characters have the same sense of style and are in almost the same time period.
