FaHaD 14-11-06, 04:44 PM since we are talking about eating habit, i would liek to mention a recently identified eating disorder: it is called the" Night eating syndrome (NES)". Still it is not classified as a psychiatric disorder under the American Psychiatry Association. Signs and symptoms 1) The person has little or no appetite for breakfast. Delays first meal for several hours after waking up. Is not hungry or is upset about how much was eaten the night before. 2) Eats more food after dinner than during that meal. 3) Eats more than half of daily food intake during and after dinner but before breakfast. May wake up and leave the bed to snack at night. May not be aware at the time of what they are doing. 4) This pattern has persisted for at least two months. 5) Person feels tense, anxious, upset, or guilty while eating. 6) NES is thought to be stress related and is often accompanied by depression. Especially at night the person may be moody, tense, anxious, nervous, agitated, etc. 7) Has trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. Wakes frequently and then often eats. FaHaD 14-11-06, 04:46 PM I believe many of us (students/employeers) share such problem. We tend to skip our breakfast , have little lunch and eat most of our calories at night. The night eating syndrome is associated with obesity. Still more needed to study about this association. amo_l_oman 14-11-06, 06:49 PM I read that those who sleep bad tend more to be fat How comes FaHaD 21-11-06, 10:35 AM let's define sleeping bad. is it related to : Night eating syndrome sleeping after eating..etc |
