~ Are there any laws related to smoking in Oman?
~ Any law that indicates the allowed age for buying cigarette?
~ Any law that indicates the allowed age for smooking?
I have more questions, but I need more information to continue... so is there any laws ? I tried searching online and didnt really find anything useful. I also checked MOH (ministry of health) website and still didnt find much information about these questions...

1- The only laws that I am aware of are:
- No smoking in any of the fastfood chains (KFC, McD...etc) but that is international & not only in Oman but worth mentioning
- All restaurants that allow smoking must have a non-smoking area
- No cafe's allow smoking Hookah before 17:00 hrs & not served to anyone younger than 18 (but I doubt they verify the age)
2- Allowed age is 18, but many youngsters go to supermarkets or select's & claim they are buying it for the father & many whom are younger than 18 look older than their age & buy it, no one asks for the I.D card before selling cigarettes
3- Same as above
Good points DeDe
The bigger problem is the large number of youngsters chewing non-smokable tobacco & other addictives because of the very cheap price

Thanks Navigator the information are quite informative. And its 3 years old already, I wonder about the statistics now after three years and what type of reaction such stats have made by now. Though I couldnt find anything about laws in the document...

There are laws & there are raids on the suppliers of such substances whom do not possess a license
I will provide you with a PPT on this by the mid of next week Insha-Allah
I will also try to find the source of the laws regarding the age & the laws on tobacco in general

Great, I will try as well.
DeDe, I have the CD with me regarding the chewing tobacco & addictives, it has the statistics from certain schools in Muscat where use of such illegal sunbstances are common
- No cafe's allow smoking Hookah before 17:00 hrs & not served to anyone younger than 18 (but I doubt they verify the age)
I know of some places that serve Sheesha/Hookah as early as 1 pm, probably some places that serve it from morning too.
Regarding age,
actually i have seen some notice in some shops of not selling cigarettes to guys below 18 or 20 yrs old.
What can you do, Omani kids are so powerful and even the old strong shopkeepers are afraid from them.. if you say no, they will say it is for my father or brother. If you still persist of saying no then be responsible for the consequences
