View Full Version : Beckham / Real : stay or leave !
Navigator 25-10-06, 06:43 PM Who doesn't know Becks ?! i bet we all do ! But recently we haven't seen him oftenly in the pitch , so does it mean , his relation with Real is coming to an end soon ?!
Heard that Becks gonna wait for six matches ,and if he couldn't get his place back he'll be considering leaving Real since his contract with the Spanish giant is expiring soon. The English star is 31 yrs old, (getting old la ) and another contract for two yrs , means Real payin' hell loads of money , unless Becks agree on a cheap contract !
Yet, i dont think the reason Real brought Beckham in the first place was his skills/performance rather than being a matter of bringing more fans , more money to the club since Becks considered to be a marketing phenomena ! which means Real have to think thousands times before letting go Becks !
Personally i think Beckham still can perform well with Real , and it's better for both , player n team, that he stays .And Cappilo should give him more chances to play.
What do you think ?
Is he gonna stay ? or Leave ?
And who's the loser in either cases ?!
I don't think they will let him go...
He is the chicken that brings Golden Eggs to the team.....
NiGhTFaCe 25-10-06, 08:24 PM I guess he will leave, as himself he doesnt want to stay. I dont see a place for him there.
He got offers from the U.S league.
If he do go to the U.S.A...that will be the end of Beck..we know...
Bye-Bye....he never be watched....
Rossonero 25-10-06, 10:49 PM He will sure leave
NiGhTFaCe 02-01-07, 01:51 PM An offer from Inter Milan, maybe next summer we will see him there.
I hope he leaves,, + RAUL + SALGADO
Anyways becks can't really provides the team with anything but Cash, his style is not suitble for the La Liga... even in Italy his tragedy will go on and on unless he hit back the premire league.
Becks belongs there.
I just wish he leaves Real and Reyes and Robinho are given the chance to play along side each other so the formation is gana be
Casilas
Cicinho Ramos Cannavaro Carlos or Marcillo
Emerson Diarra
Gago or Guti
Robinho Reyes or Houigan
Ronaldo or Rud
I just wish they bring young skillful defender like Raul Albeol or Mexes.
Senorita 02-01-07, 11:23 PM as himself he doesnt want to stay.
When was that out? I mean when did he say such a thing?
I saw like some months ago where he spoke on a press conference saying that he does not wish to leave Real and he hopes that he'll be playing there for a coming long time.
I don't think he'll be leaving, not anytime soon anyway.
Capello has been pushing him, Capello is known for that. The whole training thing and all. He wants to see what Beckham has to offer more and show his presence. Beckham has been wanting to lay foot on the pitch since like ever and whenever he's there, I believe he's doing a decent job, it's shown how he gives in his power! Just give the man some credit.
NiGhTFaCe 02-01-07, 11:34 PM I am not sure when was that, as I dont care what is the decision. I guess it was at after not finding a place in the team 1st line.
Rossonero 03-01-07, 12:25 AM He will go to the city of Milan for sure, for his wife's fashion
LosT_SouL 03-01-07, 10:02 AM He will go to the city of Milan for sure, for his wife's fashion

NiGhTFaCe 12-01-07, 04:57 AM He got offers from the U.S league.
Here we go,
David Beckham Set To Join MLS, LA Galaxy. The David Beckham-Real Madrid saga is over.
One of the most recognizable names and faces of football is headed to Major League Soccer. David Beckham is cutting ties with Real Madrid, and the former England captain told ABC News, "I think I need another challenge."
MLS and the Los Angeles Galaxy, long-assumed the likely post-Madrid destination for the 31-year-old midfielder, have inked a deal for the player to join the club in August. Beckham's current contract with Real Madrid expires on June 30. A news conference will be held Thursday with MLS Commissioner Don Garber officially announcing the deal, which is rumored to be over $250 million. (For perspective, D.C. United was sold on Monday for just $30 million.)
In LA, Becks will link up with the most famous of American soccer icons -- current player Landon Donovan and current Galaxy executive Alexi Lalas. The move has an added convenience for Becks: One of the player's two football academies is located there.
Reports Wednesday out of Spain suggested Real Madrid had decided not to offer Beckham a new contract, this after weeks of speculation about the details of the two-year deal: Neither player nor club could reach an agreement.
A spokesperson for Beckham, though, said late on Wednesday that talks with Real, for whom Becks has seen scant minutes under new coach Fabio Capello, were still on-going.
Now, however, the talks with Real are finished and Beckham will head to the United States, where the 11-year-old American top-flight league, MLS -- and Hollywood, will welcome the player with open arms.

I will tell him, thank you! You might fit the new place more :D
By the way, Edgar Davids might join the MLS too, so he wont be alone for sure :p
Rossonero 12-01-07, 04:58 AM I heard the same, I have another article about him snubbing Inter for LA Galaxy.
Rossonero 12-01-07, 04:59 AM Real Madrid midfielder David Beckham will not be joining Inter in the summer after he agreed to a five-year contract with LA Galaxy.
The former England captain has been in and out of the Real side this season and sporting director Predrag Mijatovic confirmed that the player would not renew his agreement.
This revived Inter’s hopes of bringing the 31-year-old to the San Siro, but he has now signed himself up for a lucrative MLS stint.
“This week Real Madrid asked me to make a decision regarding my future and the offer was to extend my contract for a further two seasons,” said Beckham to Reuters.
“I considered several options – to stay in Madrid or move to other important English and European teams – but I have decided to join LA Galaxy,” added the player.
It has been suggested that the American club has offered £128m spread over five years to convince Beckham to move across the Atlantic.
“He wants to continue playing football and would like to sponsor this sport in the United States,” said a source close to the player.
“He also wants to live near the football academy that he opened in Los Angeles. He likes the lifestyle in California and believes it’s an ideal place for his family to live in.”
Inter were considering the idea of making an offer for Beckham to replace Luis Figo, who will leave the outfit to join Arabian side Al-Ittihad in July.

Guess its the lifestyle and money that he is after now, he got what he wanted from championships and so on. Now time to relax.
NiGhTFaCe 12-01-07, 05:02 AM I read time back that Mancini said, there was no offer for Beckham, & Inter Milan wasn't really thinking of him.
Rossonero 12-01-07, 05:04 AM Even though he says that, the thing is, its just the media that speculate rumours and so on.
I remember time back he was linked with AC Milan as well, and one of the reasons was that his wife wanted to be in the city of fashion as well :p
Jihad4Truth 12-01-07, 05:45 AM Nobody even watches futbol in America.
Rossonero 12-01-07, 05:48 AM Nobody even watches futbol in America.

Every nation and its game.
Jihad4Truth 12-01-07, 11:13 AM Not many watch football in America. Dont say Nobody :p
Every nation and its game.
That is what I am saying.
I guess the question is: will soccer become a mainstream sport in America?
Rossonero 12-01-07, 06:52 PM Well, J4T, post a topic about that :p
It is said that he will earn almost £130m in five years

Rossonero 14-01-07, 05:51 AM Beckham Turned Down Milan, Reveals Galliani AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has revealed that David Beckham turned them down before penning his deal with Los Angeles Galaxy.
Inter had been linked with the former England skipper, but Galliani revealed that even Milan had made an approach.
"There was a chance that he would have come to Milan," Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport. "He has now decided to go to Los Angeles, but if he had stayed in Europe, we would have signed him.
"However, he has chosen a different adventure and a different life in America."
Galliani also hinted towards a new approach in the market, with emphasis on youth development as well.
"We will try to be more like Arsenal than Chelsea," he said. "We intend to scout for youngsters and discover fresh talent, like Ronaldinho when at Gremio. He should not be in PSG or Barcelona [as in Milan should snap up such players].
"However, when it comes to that, Italian league suffers economically compared to others, such as that or Spain."

Beckham made a choice, which was to go to America. The thing is, if he has signed the contract, Capello would not let him play. The MLS starts at April, would Beckham leave Real and go to LA Galaxy in January or would he be loaned until the summer to any european club and then go to LA Galaxy? There is no way that Capello would let him play now. I read in an Arabic site that Capello said Beckham will not play, but only train with the team.
Rossonero 14-01-07, 05:53 AM Just found it on Channel4.
--
The harshest words were reserved for Beckham, who has already signed a £128m contract with LA Galaxy to start from June.
"Beckham will train with the team but he won't play. He has always been a great professional, but a player who has such an important contract with another club, we cannot count on him. The fact he wanted to go was down to him, not to me."
It’s now likely the 31-year-old England international will make the switch to America in time for the start of the MSL season in April, although there is the possibility he could be loaned out to another European side for six months.

Looks like it is true that Capello would not let Beckham play now, only let him train with the team.
Rossonero 14-01-07, 05:55 AM Here is another thing interesting that I found on Channel4 as well.
--
It’s reported that the Rossoneri had secured an agreement with David Beckham before he decided to leave Europe for LA Galaxy.
“He would’ve played regularly in my midfield. I’ve always liked him as a player,” added Ancelotti.

Ancelotti says if Beckham joined Milan, he would be a regular starter. The thing is, in who's position would he play? That would been There is someone not really satisfying Ancelotti as Beckham does.
Jihad4Truth 14-01-07, 01:06 PM Interesting turn of events.
Rossonero 15-01-07, 05:35 AM Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello has revealed his reason for dropping David Beckham from the team for the rest of the season - the Englishman signing his contract with Los Angeles Galaxy before speaking with Real Madrid.
Beckham runs out of contract at Real Madrid in the summer, and was well within his rights to speak with clubs, and even sign contracts, as of January 1.
However, Real Madrid were still in talks with him - awaiting an answer over their proposal - and his alleged decision to pen his American mega-contract before speaking with his current club has not pleased the Italian.
Don Fabio suggested that Beckham had signed "a contract before speaking with Real Madrid."
He was immediately asked why that was any different from his own decision to leave Real Madrid ten years ago, and tersely quipped: "The League to which I was going to coach [Serie A] began in July. The one to which Beckham is going begins in April.
"He signed a contract before coming and speaking with Real Madrid, and to me, that seems like a bad thing to do."
"It is not just the decision of Fabio Capello," he insisted. "The club has decided that we cannot have him in our plans as of this moment."
The response comes after Beckham's agent expressed surprise at Capello's decision to side-line Beckham for the season, and insisted that the former England skipper would still be fully committed. Another response should be on the way!

Well, If that is so, I do agree with Capello for not letting him play for the rest of the season. Besides, all players should consult the the team before signing a contract. And by the way, it is illegal in FIFA that a club contacts a player and talk to him before talking to the club.
Jihad4Truth 15-01-07, 08:59 AM I think it was best this way.
Having a coach named Fabio kick Beckham off a Euro team for signing with an American team, makes me like Beckham all the more.
