Why can't I rep someone twice without making a tour on other members?

sometimes I have something to say and this you have to spread reputations thingy pops. Why would I spread reps if I didn't have anything to say to other members! it jus pisses me off! you'll say use PM, but some stuff aren't worth a PM...it's not cool that I PM someone everytime I can't rep them, and type like...three words :mmhmm:

And, how many members should you rep so you can rep the member you want again?

because some members might start chatting in reps, but i agree, i dont want to rep other members just so i can rep again, it sux
and i want to know how many rep do you have to give other membz exactly?

It is annoying... but if members were given the freedom to rep any time, they could easily abuse it... then you won't be able to control it easily

I don't mind! It's not about the red reps and points...it's about having something to say that isn't worth PMing...true, some people are jus sooooo silly, immature and childish...

^ that's not possible technically...the control limit has to apply on both green and red.

and anyways..even when it comes to green..if it's limitless then everyone will have a VERY high rep power because their friends will just rep the hell out of them.

But seriously, if I said the things you say, I would expect to get red reps. Do they matter? I mean seriously I never look at my rep points! If it was zero or negative three thousand, I wouldn't care a bit! I just read my rep messages like I read PMs.

err... see there's a problem... this is not only about what the members want... because if we give them all the freedom they can easily abuse it.
we want to avoid that... since it's been abused many times in the past.
if you set a poll of course all the members would want to be able to rep whenever wtever... but I'm afraid this system was made this way for a reason.
unless you have better suggestions of how to change it without giving chance for abuse then that would be more reasonable.

Actually Jeff, I just counted my reps.. and there are around 30 total around out of which 7 are red.

Among the last 10 green reps, 5 are from moslem members who agreed 100% with me on the hijab thread.

But thats okay, you're a wonderful, kind, gentle, understanding human being.

lets me make this clear:

- members complained about the abuse of the rep system >> we changed it..members were still not happy.

- members complained that the rep system became boring >> we changed it and this was only around a month ago..and now you are saying the members are not happy.

How can we please the members? delete the points as u suggested? that would bring us back to the boring rep system right?

So again I say..we the team will decide what is best for the forum..it's not about being stubborn or anything..I am always ready to make the members happy when I see that something really needs changing and many know this..but if there is no solution then I will just say sorry..nothing can be done for the time being.

Who knows what sort of updates vbulletin will offer in the future..maybe they'll add more features to the rep system which will help us..but for now..what they offer cannot solve your problem.

and to anyone else who suggests removing the system..the answer is no..we like it...and we will keep it.

And for your information..you only have to spread reps between 10 users in order to rep the same person again..So it's not 15 or 20 as some members assumed.

10 is a very small number compared to the previous 20 in the old system.

so you see we made it as easy as possible and limited it to prevent any abuse.
