View Full Version : Arabic speakers and writers
Scottish Gal 13-10-06, 07:05 PM Salam / Hi everybody
Is it possible that the arab members could translate their arabic words for us non arabis speaking people...........speacially words with numbers in them?!
7arama 3aed........stuff like this?
ta much
It is against the rules to post in arabic without translation so you can always report any post that's not translated even though that might be a huge hassle because many members keep breaking that rule even after we contact them and ask them to simply stop typing arabic words.
Yeah, we do understand you..
but sometimes it is hard for the guys/girls to translate...
but it shouldn't be that bad.....is it???
NicoBambi 13-10-06, 08:37 PM lol it is =)
and nabs ... report EVERY arabic post will take LOTS of time though i can waste some time on it ....
but this rules is here ans should be respected ! soo when a member brake it again an again this member should be warned or noticed :D some for ppl who write in french lol =)
i bet u already know my point on that subject lol
Thug4Life 13-10-06, 11:34 PM some members have no respect :) that simple ;)
NicoBambi 13-10-06, 11:38 PM so why don't you, admin & mods, do something against this no-respect towards us (non arabic speackers)? :D
The team is looking after any untranslated posting, and it will help more if you report/PM any if you found it :)
NicoBambi 13-10-06, 11:43 PM lol i already do this before ... it doesnt change anything lol they'll keep doing it :)
You can't change life with one night Nico :p
NicoBambi 14-10-06, 12:01 AM lol ya though what else could we do ?
report / ask for translation / PM a mod or the member ...
when someone insult a member their is a rule which say you can do this and the member who insulted the other get a warning, right ?
speak english in this forum is a rule too,(Link (http://www.englishsabla.com/forum/showpost.php?p=657293&postcount=2)), so why some member still typing in other language without translation ? and when they do it their psots are just edited and that's it.. of course all the things arent public like notices or else ... but they still doing it does it mean i'm allowed to speak french :cute:  :bored: :mmhmm: ^^

http://www.englishsabla.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39357
this topic has been discut so many time lol and ... nothing change :D
I really don't see anything wrong with using a word or two. Say for instance, "3adi" "la wallah".
I mean would you get a warning for using them basic Arabic words? Do you really have to provide translations for these words?! I came across a couple of mods using these words without providing translations.
Action should be taken if the whole post was in Arabic.
ToomuchaT 14-10-06, 12:19 AM .. i look like a nice guy that's why i translate what i post  :p
NicoBambi 14-10-06, 12:33 AM "3adi" "la wallah".
not sure what it mean
"3adi" "it's ok" ?
wallah = i swear in name of god but if u put "la" does it change anything ?
see .. lol ppl who dont speak arabic cant understand it lol
so now i'll add some french in my sentence dacc' ?
i bet you wont understand ... :D
No I'd understand the basic French words! Merci and so on lol I wouldn't ask for a translation hehe
Navigator 14-10-06, 01:24 AM i think non-arabic memberz deserve some kinda respect !
so how about a thread containin' all the commonly used words ,, like 3adi ,, la wallah ,, nobah ...etc with their translation .. so any none-arabic memeber can refer to that thread from time to time to check !
amo_l_oman 14-10-06, 01:36 AM some members have no respect :) that simple ;)
You can say it loud dad duck !!!
Is 3 years Nabs tells me laish 3aad and still didnt tell me what means :os
NicoBambi 14-10-06, 01:40 AM No I'd understand the basic French words! Merci and so on lol I wouldn't ask for a translation hehe
so did u understand this -> dacc' ???

That sure seems a good idea...
Y dont U create a thread & we would paricipate in posting the common word each one of us uses n their translation ?
You guys are making a big fuss lol and anyway personally speaking I wouldn't mind you using some of your exotic French words hehe
NicoBambi 14-10-06, 01:44 AM your wish is my command :D
Tiny Heart 14-10-06, 01:54 AM ^^ oh no... dont give him the green ligh.. he already started that :p

NicoBambi 14-10-06, 02:00 AM lol i bet u can hear me coming with my "it's not fair" ....

NicoBambi 14-10-06, 02:06 AM lol
thanx for giving me another case ...
a9lan = ??? mean
i find it weird to report for things like that lol
anyway i dont see why we're discussing this coz nothing will change...
Tiny Heart 14-10-06, 02:08 AM well, itz never been fair a9lan !! lol
I think u just said:
i think non-arabic memberz deserve some kinda respect !
----
How come u used the words a9lan without translation :XD:
Navigator 14-10-06, 02:08 AM a9lan i wrote on purpose
I think the thread is a great idea. But I hate to persecute people for using an Arabic word now and then. It's natural, when a word or expression comes to hand to use it. Sometimes, it just doesn't sound the same in English...
NicoBambi 14-10-06, 02:29 AM okayyy =)
so all you have to do is report report and report :D
and, as mimo said, when they'll have enough to see ur report they might do something :)
Tiny Heart 14-10-06, 02:31 AM It's natural, when a word or expression comes to hand to use it. Sometimes, it just doesn't sound the same in English...
I agree in that....
U know, even I sometimes face some points where I get lost n donno how 2 write a certain word in english so I end up writting it in arabic...
Maybe.... when a member gets stuck in an expression, perhaps another members if able 2 help, would translate it for him, so that non arabic speakers would undestand..
Yeah. Let's all hold hands and help each other like one big family. *group hugs*
Arabic should be translated
I can add to that translating the English of some members
5alfanooh 14-10-06, 01:09 PM we try to translate the words we write in arabic, but some of them even if we translate them they wont make sense... so dont blame us when they makes no sense..
and for people like me who are not very good at english.. we need to express some words and that only can be done in arabic. thats why we prefer to use a specific arabic word to express something specific.. cuz we dont know the english word.. afterall 90% of members here are arabic speaking members..
TripleTee 14-10-06, 01:18 PM ... some like what won't make a difference???...
things like a9lan, walla and what not have translations. a9lan's translation's not a9lan. a9lan could be translated as: actually or (this way or the other)...
same goes to many expressions. if it can't be translated it can be explained.
provide explanations... and if the non-arabs feel annoyed by any posts then report them,... if it's something trivial the posts will just be edited... bigger untranslated paragraphs will be judged differently. so I suggest report... and yes... keep reporting :p...
who doesn't want his/her posts to be edited will have to stick to the rules.
TripleTee 14-10-06, 01:22 PM edited*...........
Navigator 14-10-06, 01:25 PM if you obey all the rulez , u miss all the fun !
TripleTee 14-10-06, 01:28 PM have fun and pay the consequences :p :p
Navigator 14-10-06, 01:33 PM okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, what worse could happen ! lol

يا بنت الحلال ما نقدر نترجم كل شي - تعلمي عربي انتي بعد - عندنا شغالات يتعلمن عربي في شهر وازيدك من
القصيد بيت - انا اعرف وحده تعلمت تتكلم عربي بأستعامل حرف الجر الكوني -في- فقط
مثلا تقول - انا في روح شغل - انا في ياكل سمبوسة - في تعال في تعبان في مسكين في واحد في اثنان وألخ
Translation:
O'Halal girl, we can't translate everything, you learn Arabic instead,as well. You know we have housemaids, who learn Arabic within a month - Adding a stanza to the poem - I know one who speaks Arabic by using only "In". For example, she said - I in go to work, I in eat Sambosa!, In Go, In Tired, In Poor, In One, In Two...etc
Now you tell me how much did you understand out of this poor translation of mine?
Salam.
NicoBambi 14-10-06, 04:23 PM what I understood is "stop conplainning and learn arabic instead, even housemaids can do this so why can't you ? and even if you speak bad arabic we'll understand you"

Wrong..This is an ENGLISH forum so those who don't know english should simply look for another arabic forum to post in..or better yet learn some english.
5alfanooh 14-10-06, 06:25 PM ^^ an english forum called englishSABLA! so they cant report us when we use sabla. but when we use sabal ( monkey ) they can? i would just pretend i ment sabla! lol
Scottish Gal 14-10-06, 11:34 PM aye, like nabhan said, this is an english sabla! so use english or go use some arabic sabla!
......... or because im very compromising....what we can do is that the arabic members can make one thread with the most common arabic expressions, i'll learn them.
but big mama arabic paragraphs must be translated.
ok ? :)
^ Yah that's what I was trying to say lol I really don't see anything wrong with using a couple of Arabic words as long as the post is understandable in English.
NicoBambi 15-10-06, 12:16 AM it's simple! their is a rule ! you apply it or you change it, nothing hard.
