Well, in order to answer the question well, I wonder how many here have actually fired a gun? Because I think if you haven't fired one, maybe you don't know if you could really point it at a person and pull the trigger. You might lack confidence. After all, if you miss, you could be in worse trouble!

First of all, I don't even live in a place where guns are necessary, and I hope I never do. I would never want to own a gun to fire one.

If I lived in a big crime-filled city where your life is at risk literally every time you stepped out your door, or even when youre in your own house, I would probably get one out of necessity, but I'd probably have it just like as a security blanket to make me feel safer.

anywhoo i know how to use a gun.. in self defense i'd fire it at my assailant's legs or arms to back him down... and procede to the torturing... that or turn him over to the police... if he's larger than me.. i'd run.
