FaRaSHa 03-10-06, 03:38 PM ....Most of us go through this bad moments of getting heart-burns (chesty) while we are fasting......its really annoying when you cant drink water or eat any thing to kill it.......
....Doctors: What would you advice us to do when we get such heart-burn on the day time while fasting?.....
mmm i've never heard of such thing
hope u guyz answer her questions so we all be enlightened :)
Shinoda LP 03-10-06, 08:19 PM Stop gobbling down oily, greasy food when you break your fast? If not, at least calm down on how much you eat. And drink enough fluids to hydrate your body enough to last you while you fast, I guess.
Farasha, you had the same query in the past but it was not Ramadan back then :)

I suggest you get investigated by your physician to find the cause of the condition you are suffering from
Did you test for H Pylori?
Heart burn is an annoying symptom..
eating oily spicy food can aggrevate the heart burn...
what time do u eat your suhoor meal.. and what do you eat.
remember eating large bulky meals fills the stomach bag and aggreviate the heart-burn.. try to have smaller meals .
do you wear tight clothes around the waist.. if so then avoid it
if you get such feeling all the time even before ramadhan.. then as adviced by hitman.. try to invesitigate it further and look for the H.Pylori bacteria.
FaRaSHa 04-10-06, 04:38 PM ......Hitman: i know i did open the thread before, but that was different as it was a normal days, but i wanted to know how to get rid of heart-burn while fasting on the day time .....:p
....Sanks though for bring back my oldi thread.....:D
......FAHAD: Sanks for the reply......
........My Iftar and Suhur always consists of fruits and non-gresy food, i hate gresy food and i dont eat any fry ups at all........
.....My meals are always light and i dotn have a big portion of any thing......for example if i had a bowl of salad then it will be it and nothing else or soup or somthing else very light.......Not that salty and nothing much sweet........always drinking water and no tea or coffee at ramadhan.......rarely to drink any fruit juice, and i dont have any fizzy drinks.....:)
......I have suhur 15 minutes before the Emsak time.......
.....So far i manged to have a banana at the end of every meal at suhur time, and it works in keeping me fien during the day......
.....but my query is what if the person did not have a banana or some one was having such a burn, how would that perosn cure themselves while fasting?.......
......Its just a general question for general information....:)
....BTW i did not have that test that you were refering to!:os
....How and where shoudl i go to do such test?.....
Farasha, you are suffering from a condition that must be fully investigated & managed by preferably a gastroenterologist
Your condition is called Gastroeosophageal Reflux Disease (or it seems that way from your history)
Whether it is the above or gastritis, that will be decided after you see your Dr
Getting tested for H Pylori can be done at any family Dr you visit, should you have H Pylori, then eradicating it will solve your condition after taking the full course of treatment
If it is not H Pylori related, then reflux disease/chronic gastritis sufferers need to be on drug therapy for most probably a long time
However, reflux disease can also be managed surgically after being thoroughly investigated to find the cause of it

.....ohhhhhhhhhhhh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO:omg: :yell: :yell: :weep:
......You are scarying me now........:(
....It cant be that seriouse.......:shut: :help:
I never said it was a serious condition, all I said that it must be investigated fully & managed
Unless you want to live like this for the rest of your life
Farasha, if it is a gastroesophageal disease, then the treatment can be easy, and can help with your symptoms and decrease the overproduction of acid that is the cause of the burning you feel as the acid irritates the lining mucosa.
Give it a try.
Shinoda LP 06-10-06, 07:34 PM Doctors are scary people... another reason why I shouldn't hook up with one.
fatamooo 06-10-06, 07:40 PM Lol i know right?! Everything sounds so final when they say it :p
Shinoda LP 06-10-06, 07:52 PM I guess lady docs are okay though, lol. The way Hitman put it, I would have passed out reading his verdict. Anywayyyss, no docs for moi... no lawyer either... limmi, you're an exception so don't bite my head off now.
Okay, this is waaaay off-topic.
Guys where did I say something scary?
She said she is following the proper diet & lifestyle so now its time for something more advanced
Farasha, why don't you see your physician & tell us his diagnosis & plan of management
LOL poor Hitman!! He was just explaining all the options, that's all.
Hey come on, docs are really nice people! Shinoda you know that for a fact, lol, you know me don't you?
As for farasha, if it is gastroesophageal disease, then you're doing the right step with the proper diet and lifestyle. With some people you need to go for the next step, which is to control the amount of acid produced.
I remember a lecturer once telling us that around here, almost 90% of the population have the H.Pylori bacteria, but only 2% develop problems. With those people, a tria of medications to eradicate the bacteria as well as the acid suppression medication will do the trick and your symptoms can be controlled.
Nothing to worry about. A lot of people suffer from heart burns.
(See I was nice, wasn't I?)
Shinoda LP 09-10-06, 09:07 AM Okay, just to set the facts straight... Dr N is an exception to the rule as well. =)
I'm a whipped man, lol.
