Hey,

I have a very piculiar problem. My connection seems to hate torrents, for some reason, I can only download torrents via 2 or 3 kbps max (I have a 512k DSL connection). I thought someone was screwing around with my port so I called the ISP and they told me that all of my port connection were going fine and they are not legal dogs so bitorrent downloading is allowed.

What's interesting is that even if I am downloading a .torrent file from my browser (http download ofcourse) the file gets downloaded via 200bps or something retarded like that.

So what could be causing that? anyone have a clue about this?

Seeders, especially if you're downloading old stuff, I'm guessing Anime, if you're not the late series, it will be way too slow. I don't think there's any technical reasons, torrents are not that complicated. Try changing your torrent client.

torrents files depend on seeders and peers. And torrent clients depend on ports.

So either what you are downloading is with a low seeding in the first place as snooky mentioned. Or perhaps your DSL modem doesnt have your torrent client program ports forwarding properly to your PC or perhaps you have some port restriction.

But he said that even when he's downloading a .torrent file , which basically doesn't have anything to do with seeders and is basically like downloading any other direct file on the net, it downloads at a slow speed.

did i get that right deez?

Anyways..where do you download you torrent files from?

okay..better question..what torrent client are you using?

most probably azureus.. azureus lately sucks what with the new updates and new firewall, NAT stuff.. I have no idea how to change those settings.

Anywhoo downloading .torrent files is different from downloading the entire file itself. think of it as if its downloading the source or shortcut of the file you want to download.. and its normal that it will be downloaded in only a second or 2.

I'm actually surprised your ISP knows what torrents are XD

Assalam Alaikum

since the topic is on torrents, i thought of placing my problem...

i lately downloaded utorrent, and i have no previous use of torrent clients and files.
all i got to know is that i am not having incoming calls and i do not get even a yellow signal, leave alone the green signal at the right bottom of the client...

i hope someone will inform me of what i have to do so as i can get things working right for me....

and please, what is port forwarding?.......:inno:

thank you

hakuna matata, I don't actually know much about the program you are using for downloading torrents, but I personally recommend "bitcomet" for downloading torrents. So far, no programs have happened to me while using it.

Deezel, do you still have a problem with downloading?
