wOULD HAVE A DOG AS A PET YOU KEEP INSIDE YOUR HOUSE?!

I PERSONALLY THINK THEY ARE COOL ANIMALS BUT I CAN'T IMAGINE LIVING WITH THEM!:yell:

I am not a pet lover and I especially don't like dogs.

Yes, I would have them in my house, running around, sleeping on my bed, feeding the dog, walking the dog outside, and doing the poop n' scoop thing.

I have a cat, they're pretty much the same.

I can't keep in my house! Because than I can't eat, sleep or even stand the place! Feels dirty you know!!

I don't like dogs or anyother animal that much that I would keep them with me at home. My mother loved cats, she had two when we were kids.

everytime sum1 said they don't like dogs i felt as though i was being stabbed repeatedly :( i love dogs.. i love animals in general, but dogs r exceptionally amazing! used 2 have them all the time as a kid but not anymore (my mum "hates" them :inno:) anyhow, if i did have 1 now thn i wouldnt let it in the house, 4 religious reasons, unless there is an exceptional situation, e.g. heavy rain, very young pup... etc, & even then they'r only allowed a certain corner in the kitchen, no walking around in the house :no:

I think it would be cool to have a dog as a pet, but it's just impossible because it's haram.

We had one dog and 2 puppies in our farm oh my god...I wouldn't even get out of the house...too scared so no..no dogs at home.

ARE dogs haram?

Most Muslims say something like that, but I knew one Somali Kenyan guy (a Muslim) who was a bit of a religious scholar. He said "Nonsense! That's just a mistaken idea. I love dogs and I've always had one..." And there are others who have them.

It kind of reminds me of the question of music. Some Muslims say it's haram, others say it's fine, others say sometimes yes, sometimes no, others say it depends on the words or the style of music, others say it's not haram, but it's recommended not to listen to it....

So, what do you guys think...are dogs haram?

I LOVE dogs, by the way. But I haven't owned one in a while. But certainly--in the house. How can you put your dog out in the icy cold? My dog always slept on the bed. He had a sneaky way of taking over the bed, though.

He'd start out at the bottom of the bed. But you'd wake up in the middle of the night and you were just on the outside edge, wife on the other outside edge...the whole middle of the bed is taken up by the dog, on his back, legs spread out everywhere snoring!

This one understood English, too. Sometimes I would tease him. I'd call him to me and I'd look at him very meaningfully, like something exciting and good. Then I'd ask him with a question in my voice: "Kitty cat? Kitty cat?" and I'd look him right in the eye.

He would look at me so excitedly and stare at me for a minute. Then he would RUSH to the window and jump up and look out, looking for the Kitty Cat!

Ooooh, he LOVED kitty cats! But kitty cats HATED him. It really used to hurt his feelings. When he saw one outside, he would pull so hard on his leash and try to go make friends. But the cats would put their ears back and arch their backs and HISSSSSS at him. If he got close they would bat his nose with their paws and run away.

One time, though, he found a little kitty, maybe one year old. And he stretched his nose and pulled his leash. And the kitty walked over to him and stretched his nose to touch my dog's nose and started purring! OMG! My dog was sooooo happpy! His tail was wagging madly, he remembered that for days! Finally, he had found a cat friend!

I guess kinda haram, because they're najasa, so whenever you touch them you have to get cleaned by taking a shower.

I'll never treat any animal badly! It'll break my heart! I'll follow what our prophet :PBUH: taught us! He is the best role model for us!

Personally, I go mad over any type of pet, and I LOVE LOVE dogs - especially labradors and japanese spitzes, or anything playful. But when I pet them I cant help but feel like they left a layer of dirt on whatever part of my skin touched their fur and I have to wash my hands and arms like a million times till I feel clean again :p

So iiifff I ever get a dog, I would never keep it in the house. Dogs are more comfortable outdoors anyways, with a lot of freedom to run around and stuff - plus I can't imagine everything in my house covered in a layer of invisible dirt :omg:

Bogi was one of them, cool, but never allowed to enter the house, he made many tries, and I blocked him fully. That big guy was carrying 10 years on his back but still have full insistance to make his way into my home, and I am full of insistance to make him not!

Let us see who will win at the end!

I love dogs but I think they need to stay in their kennel and not with you. You could let them in for a while play around and but not have them sit on your couch or jump into bed. Cat?, they certainly stay home :)

aww any ways I have allergy from their hair/fur .. so maybe a skinny dog with no hair at all :P and just out side the home :| its 7aram any ways

tis nothing more than companionship and the chemistry between a human and an animal is a nice thing.. totally different from interacting with other people but its a nice thing.

Anywhoo I'm egyptian.. so obviously i love cats.. :p

nah I use to like dogs but ever since my mom began bringing poodles and small dogs that are afraid from stray cats i just hate them... plus they pooped a lot in the house and well my mom didn't "accept" that. I love cats though.. especially my Dusty. He kind of reminds me of myself if i was a cat because he really imitates me a lot...plus he looks cute when he's sleeping on his back with his legs relaxed and arms up in the air.. plus he's the only cat i know that becomes really excited when he sees water... he's kinda like the dog i never had :D
