I have worked with disable people for a short period of time this year and I was shocked of how creative thier ideas were! I recommand that they get a little bit more attention! These people ideas are just as good any of ours ideas we can invest that!

One of ladias I met is working on project to establish the first disabled ladies swimming team!

Great experience would love to do it again soon!:)

I agree with you sunmoon, but I don't think that they should be given more attention or different attention or anything, I sometimes hear people say that even though people mean well when they give extra care, it makes them feel like they are different and draws attention to them that maybe they don't want. I know I wouldn't want people to be nice to me because they feel sorry for me or something. In fact, I would probably avoid people who treated me that way the same way I avoid people who say mean things to me.

Fatmoo and Miss G! I think you both have missunderstood what I meant! If you go to thier learning centres you'll get what I'm saying ladies! :)

But I can see where you are coming from! ;)

i totally get u... but fatamoo pretty much summe dup what i meant better tht i said it myself.... i dont think they would like all that extra attention given 2 them, like ppl getting amazed when they come up with something really interesting as though it's not normal 4 a disabled person 2 be able 2 do something intelligent or anything. i understand that alot of the time ppl mkean well with what they say, but praising them excessively & giving them more attention is just as bad as discriminating them... y can't they just be thought of as normal ppl with average intelligence like every1 else?!

Well, you are right! But they have more needs and sometimes they are given nothing to help them and they struggle in thier lives (bless'em) but mostly they never say a word about it! They are so amazing unlike us! We are so needy and selfish! While some of them have got the most wonderful personalities that makes you feel amazed and proud!

'these' abled people are part of society in everyway....
helping them achieve full participation and equal status in the society is a wonderful thing to do.

few years ago i had a disabled kid in my school, he was always happy, always had a smile on his face ALWAYS no matter what .. if he gets sad he wont cry he would go in the corner and sit here .. wallah he was so adorible... and during break he would always be runnig around playing with his little friends and smiling... once he came up to me and he ran to me and hhugged me ... and he said " ur so nice.. when i hug someone else they run away" ... hes soooo cute... he always made my day..
