View Full Version : Second Hand Car Needed..
Solidus 17-09-06, 01:38 PM I just got my license (Yes mabrook I know.. lol) And I need an Automatic 4 Cylinder car in good shape..
I would consider a 6 Cylinder car if it was a Ford Taurus.. But other than that I'll go for 4 cylinders..
I'll pay up to 1300 RO.. Lessens depending on the condition of the car..
Also, if anyone could find me a Ford Focus for sale, it'll be excellent..
So comeon people, help me out, check your family, friends and friends friends and tell me what happens..
Her XLNC 17-09-06, 06:11 PM ^^u're a ford fan????
Black Lolly 17-09-06, 06:14 PM oh mabrook,,, and good luck finding your car,, ;) i dunno if i can help
Haroundb 17-09-06, 06:27 PM Warning...! NO FORD..
I am a good example of how a Ford can be a pain in the @ss!
I spent lots of money on my For Mercury Sable 1994 and I spent on it lots of money and then a small problem of smoke in the engine made me sell it for 200 RO. No one wants to buy Ford cars in Oman neither none knows how to fix it. If you go to any grague, the Indian guy will shake his head and say...
"mafi..ahza sayara waged moshkel...ahsan enta fee bee3 (sell) sayara same same sooq Juma)...Haza sayara waged complicated...Mafi nafar same same Oman momkin sala7 haza namona car..!".
To be fair I would say maybe I was no so lucky with Ford, but what I am so sure of is this car has the most expensive spare parts over all the brands. Also it is all controllled by computer and wire connections, that is a very complicated car which "repair" is not a word that can be pronounced easily for it.
I admit that it was the best comfy car I had ever driven in my life, that you will not feel a pmup or a hump or even if you step over a dead camel, the car will just get over it as smooth as silk. It is more like driving a boat in still water. But the disadvantages here in Oman buy one is more than the advantages.
Could be if I was in the USA it would have been more easier to fix it because most of the garages have the most updated computer testers. But here in Oman even the agency will do lots of experiments on your car making you spend a big heap of money to just get to the true cause of problem.
Just to mention my idea of spare parts:
Ford Mercury Sable 300cc 1994
Front bumper = 180 RO. After sever discuont
Back bumper = 120 RO. After months of negociations.
The Front lights = 160 Each lamp Set
Back Light & Pannel just coast the same..
See this is my experience of things which will sure be hit one day in an accident of your mistake. I know the rest of details of all the other spare parts which you can imagine, but don't want to break people's head with number.
Good Luck with Ford (In Oman)!
Her XLNC 17-09-06, 06:44 PM ^^Lol...Rajoo wa7aad :p
anyway my uncles and grandfather used to be a 'Ford' Fan...but i doubt they r now..anyway..for some reason i dont think it is wise to buy it either...

Dam3eti 17-09-06, 08:30 PM why pay 13,000 on a second hand car?
Her XLNC 17-09-06, 09:55 PM ^^Its 1,300 and not 13,000 ;)
Tiny Heart 18-09-06, 12:05 AM yaak, Ford !! its not an advisable car 2 buy..
american junk dont last.
Rossonero 18-09-06, 02:27 AM Solidus, want my Infiniti? ;) You got a lovely experience with that car
Dam3eti 18-09-06, 06:16 PM ohhhh ok..lol.. my mistake
Solidus 19-09-06, 09:36 PM Thanks alot for the info Haroundb, I can see that Ford cars are really expensive if I needed to repair it or somethin, and according to your Mercury, the price on front lights is almost as much as fixing alot of damage on a normal car such corolla.. Hmm, this sucks.. lol I choose Ford at the beginning coz I like how the Taurus looks like, and the Focus because of it's small size and how it consumes low petrol, plus it is good for a tall person like me, and lets not forget how safe it is, what do I need more?
Anyhow, I checked the papers hundreds of times, but all the cars are either too expensive OR too crappy.. Hmm..
I would go for a Japanese car though, anything in good shape with low milage!!!!
And lol Rossonero, I'm not interested in that piece of junk :P
Solidus 02-10-06, 12:34 PM Comeon guys.. As your friends and family for me..
do not go for american trash
japanese is the best
how about the new toyota camrey :D
or mazda 3 or mazda 6  or nissan maxima or murano
Metal_Maniac 02-10-06, 02:00 PM I know someone who wants to sell a toyota corolla (97') and has just just 10K in mint condition. Want to check it out? But the asking is 1700/-
Ps. I just realised you're looking for an automatic transmission. This one isn't :(
