Just heard of it....can anyone fill us in with the details? What is it about? I heard Al-Ain are not allowing Omani students crossing the borders?

I dont think there is any conflict .. what happened is that UAE built another border check between Al Ain and Al Buraimi (from al Haili side). I dont know about the processes of passing through it though but I doubt they will have any complications towards Omanis.

I was posted in Buraimi Hospital for 4 months & always heard such rumors

I don't think it is true unless something really happened this time

There were many issues back then & evetually I heard that a border for entry & another for exit was being created (one is Heily another is the Toyota showroom border)

Another rumor was that a fee will be implemented everytime you croos the border to Al-Ain, this has been ruled out as well

there is no space for building a check point in the border!!!

the civil planning for Buraimi was planned EXACTELY next to al ain..

there is TOTALLY no space for a check point... at all...

what happened?

people from buraimi and people from al ain were like "people of one country" to assume... they felt OVER free to get into the UAE and OMAN back and forth without being known that they have actually Left their countries!

as if it was an easy game!

what did UAE do about it? i dont know.. im sure they revised THEIR Civil planning mistake... they have grown Too fast and reached the exact border without considering Buraimi as a place where a huge population resides!

What did Oman do?

the problem which started happening is... Omani people who had to visit an Omani city... had to pass through a check point :S WTH!

i am in my country! and im going to a place in my OWN country!
why the hell should i pass through a check point?!
not a big deal...

but the problem was...

people who claimed that they are visiting Buraimi were actually getting into buraimi and driving straight until they get into the UAE LOOOOL

Buraimi this little sad city feels so lonely... this omani city is now feeling left out because of the border

it is mentally considered a part of the UAE because of the civil structure!

Just had a phone conversation with a friend from Buraimi, things have changed a bit from before

GCC nationals cross the check point front of the Toyota Showroom & the expats cross from the Heily check point, apart from that there are no new rules or any fee or checking, they move from one city to another freely just as before
