Yes it harbors or sponsors terrorists as in (Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine General Command)... 76,000 is the number of US uniformed troops in Libya (might have been a danger in the past).... doesn't recognizes State of Isreal.... Total Aids From US is nothing... Primary Resources are Oil, Naturel Gas and Gypsum.... Chief Trading Partners are Itlay, (ha ha that's a good one:color: )... Germany and Spain":think: :hyper:

What's up with Libya anyways - all I hear about it is that there were struggles there before... qadhafi (I think??)... and someone we were friends with's dad was executed there :omg: whats goin on there right now?

Qaddhafi has been in power for decades. He overthrew King Idris in 1969. The King had been the leader of Libya since independence from Italy. (Libya was the only Arab country colonized by Italy.)

He's been pretty secure in power. There was a tussle with the US when Qaddhafi was said to have been behind the assassination of some American soldiers in Germany in the '80s. Then we bombed some things in Libya.

And there was a dispute about nuclear and chemical weapons recently. Qaddhafi gave them up and allowed inspections. Now we have the best relations with Libya we've had in many, many years. But we don't have military there, that's a weird idea.
