View Full Version : Tea / Coffee Dark Project 10-09-06, 03:22 PM There are lots of article about tea and coffee some say its healthy some say it bad for health .. Any information about these two daily consumed hot drinks ? fatamooo 10-09-06, 04:25 PM Something interesting about caffeine, some companies actually use it as an ingredient in beauty products for the skin, because apparently it's great for the skin when applied externally! But not so great when it get's into your blood system :p Tea is definitely good for you, there's no dispute about that (not necessarily red tea, though) experiments were conducted which confirmed that they help reduce chances of cancer by a great deal, lower cholesterol, blood pressure, help detoxify the system, increase immunity, grrrreat for the skin :p $w€€ŧ¥ 10-09-06, 04:48 PM Too much of anything is not good Dark color food or drinks is not good for your health in general that's all i know Dark Project 10-09-06, 04:55 PM Too much of anything is not good Dark color food or drinks is not good for your health in general that's all i know Thats interesting why Dark colour food is not good for the health ? Does it contain lots of iron which is not good for the liver is that it ? Dr N 10-09-06, 05:42 PM The caffiene in both helps you to be alert as it is a central nervous system stimulant. That's why it decreases the feeling of tiredness and helps you to feel awake and wakeful with faster flow of thoughts. However, it should be taken in moderation. Using caffiene in high amounts can lead to certain problems such as anxiety, insomnia, increase heart rate, and irritability. It also increases the amount of stomach acid and so can cause inflammations in the stomach or the esophagus and can aggravate problems such as ulcers. Tea is good because of it's antioxidant qualities, especially green tea, it helps rid your body of toxins. Tea and coffee however should not be taken after meals because they decrease the absorption of minerals especially iron. --- Sweety, what do you mean by dark foods? I haven't heard of this. Any products in general that you mean? Dark colours could be because of concentration of something such as tea or coffee, or it could just be a more concentrated colour additive. death rose 10-09-06, 06:01 PM i dont drink coffee n i only drink tea sometimes when i have the mood in the morning NicoBambi 10-09-06, 06:25 PM i don't like both lol :p ^^ Dark Project 10-09-06, 09:18 PM Thanks for the information Dr N :) I will pass it to my friend who drinks 10 to 14 mugs of black coffe a day Yuck ... Black Lolly 10-09-06, 09:37 PM ^^ Whoa ! thats alot ! 1 cup of coffe = caffeine of 16 cans of pepsi !! i saw that in "inside edition" i drink 1 cup of coffee (with coffee mate) everyday ,, so i guess theres nothing wrong with that fatamooo 11-09-06, 12:41 AM Lol special - maybe that's american jumbo macho ginormous sizes of coffee :p actually it's more like 2-4 times more caffeine not 16!!! sunmoon 11-09-06, 12:53 AM I think this a good thread to read! I didn't know the info's about coffee! Intersting! I'm both coffee and tea drinker! Time to cut it down!:shy: $w€€ŧ¥ 11-09-06, 06:07 AM Thats interesting why Dark colour food is not good for the health ? Does it contain lots of iron which is not good for the liver is that it ?I dont remember why :mmhmm: but i remember her saying it is not good for some guys beside Mr.Liver and something about how a bad mother i will be :os like if you drink coffee, better add milk than just plane Black coffee... If you like Brownie chocolate, try to add some cream or vanellia to it... Stuff like that as for me, I have to mix the coffee with the tea together. 2 in 1 :p sunmoon 11-09-06, 10:28 AM I think you made a very good point there by saying that you have to add things to your drink to make it better this could be the way companies get thier products sold in the market! It's like saying "Son! If you drink black coffee you are putting yourself under big danger! So there you go son add some of this stuff you'll live longer!!" :D Chikey! Dark Project 11-09-06, 01:45 PM Ok does Coffee effect pregnant women ? The baby ? Thug4Life 11-09-06, 03:32 PM I remmeber I read something about that long time ago. The effect of caffiene in Pregnancy and Infants. caffiene as a biochemical product has some addictive nature. And as it was pointed above it can cause : irratibility And anxiety, insomnia (inability to sleep), and increases heart rate, The caffiene can cross the placenta (when baby in the mother) and reach to the baby causing similar effect on the baby. Allthough Some studies correlated caffiene intake of a pregnant mother with Still births or premature deleivaries, Some congenital heart defects in babies born, but such studies were not conclusive or were not that supportive with evidence of new factors ommited in their studies I guess. (as per meta analysis). Now when I said the word Addictive, means when u stop it all of the sudden and you are addicted to it you can suffer from withdrwal symptomes: nervousness, sleepless, anxiety, (curve to get coffea) LOL as such THIS it self can occur in the child who was born to an excessive coffea drinker mother...and can show as signs in his respiration *distress* (am not sure though)..... The best thing is to drink Coffea if a must in moderation...2 cups /day is more than enough. :) and health be upon you all! Dark Project 11-09-06, 03:52 PM Wow Thanks for the Info Dr.Thuggie :) .. Another question why in Ramadhan people tend to get headache and the first thing they drink is coffee and BOOM the headache is gone away ? $w€€ŧ¥ 11-09-06, 05:41 PM Dark Project Physcoloical reasons I believe or maybe it is an addiction just like thuggy mentioned above but then this wont jst happen in Ramadan but all times death rose 11-09-06, 05:45 PM i think that some ppl r addicted to coffe like my sis when she dont drink for more than 2days the headache comes !! damn !! :XD: HITMAN 12-09-06, 11:02 PM There have been numerours studies proving the beneficial effects of both tea & coffee on the general health Moderation is the key since both are addictive I drink none of them Thug4Life 13-09-06, 11:53 AM I drink none of them Then if you dont drink TEA (green) at least you are loosing the chance of detoxefying your body from hamfull substances that you got....:mmhmm: this is per studies :D Dark Project 13-09-06, 05:42 PM What about Decaffeinated Coffee ??? Fdaitny 13-09-06, 06:12 PM I love coffee!!! (not black though!) I'm slowly becoming addicted to it I guess.. I don't like tea (except for green tea with mint!!) But I know that if you're addicted to coffee, and you quit, well I've seen 2 reactions: you get shakey, or you're just hyper for a lo0o0o0o0ong time! Lol!! Talius Brute 23-09-06, 06:13 AM Coffee bad, tea good. Simple as that Green tea even better Dark Project 23-09-06, 05:40 PM Why do they call it Green tea ?
