Do you think the efficacy of the drugs that are made in Oman can be compared to the imported ones?
sensation 09-09-06, 10:33 PM I try to avoid drugs unless I am "really" needing them :)
Regarding Omani drugs like amool and stuff, I find them as efficient as the imported ones. At the end it's the same chemical formulae, right? :D
eL3yo0oN 09-09-06, 10:50 PM i dont really know about the efficiency of omani drugs, but julfar isnt that bad, i think its made in the uae.
what are the drugs made in oman?
Dark Project 10-09-06, 03:20 PM Are they good quality ? Or are they imported and we seal it made in Oman :)
They are not imported, they are manufactured in Oman, they have a large number of products, from Paracetamol to Viagra
National Pharmaceuticals (http://www.npioman.com/products.html)

amo_l_oman 16-09-06, 09:02 AM What do you mean by forbidden? That it cannot be sold in Oman, that at least what normal people know and with the level of information we have in Oman we all might be wrong
Are you sure that Aladin is for our market or is there any special limit for the prescription ?
As far i know that Omani drugs (specially for diabetes) work fine.. However, there was a problem in one of the paracetamol syrup stock made which was diluted.
I currently used it for my kid and it is working.
Rossonero 16-09-06, 06:07 PM Where did al-haja safiya go? with the magical water? :p
fatamooo 16-09-06, 08:10 PM Sensation: I heard that people drink amool to get drunk!! I didn't even know it was a medicine!!
I think drugs made in Oman are ok, but if I have like a migraine or something I want something reallllly strong that'll knock me out and Oman doesn't make 'em that strong :p like mirgaleve and nurofen or something.
Dark Project 16-09-06, 08:43 PM What do you mean by forbidden?I thought its a dangerous drug to be sold or marketed ...
Amo & Dark Project,
The drug is an FDA approved drug for people suffering from erectile dysfinction & it can be dispensed only through prescription
I am not sure if Aladin is common in the local pharmacies but the name is certainly creating the arabian nights atmosphere
fatamooo 17-09-06, 12:23 AM Oh and I dunno abt drugs but for broken bones and stuff nothing works better than that habbar guy who fixes broken bones with this pasty thing made out of dates and with palm fronds and all that...
pReTtY_sIcKo 17-09-06, 12:56 AM i think that as sensation said it's the same chemical so wherever they made it has the same side effects but if they have diffrent chemical so ppl will choose the one with the less side effect
ToomuchaT 18-09-06, 01:50 AM .. to be honest it's the first time for me to know that Oman produces drugs!! .. thnx for the info!!
fatamooo 18-09-06, 01:53 AM Aren't the drugs that they give out in all the medical clinics made in oman?
The Q that many always ask is: why do drugs with the same active chemical sunstance have lesser efficacy when made locally
Did any of you noticed that as well?!
Going back to Pharmacokinetics stuffs,
efficacy depend on the dose (concentration). It is low at low dose and high at higher dose. Efficacy can be saturated at high dose (zero order kinetics).
thus , even if teh chemical is the same.. efficacy can be altered by the dose.
HITMAN, i didnt! the once i use work as efficient as other brands.
Is this actually a mdeical fact!! i mean are they really less efficacy or it is just ppl not trusting local products
