Well as we noticed .. each thread varies in the amount of posts it gets .. but the question is .. what really makes a thread exciting/interesting something people would like to read ..
Any tips guys?

Hey BG:)

I think interesting threads should be against the flow lol, when they hit a nerv the get a lot of attention..

So, it should be Odd and Unique .

well there is some truth in what i said..
a popular member who posts/reply to a Thread will make it more prone to succede...BUT thats NOT the ONLY factor

The Way the thread initiator starts of the thread, and presents it...in a respective mature way...
even the MOST BOOORING topic can become very intresting Not need for it to be contradictory! or contraversial!!!!!!!!

The same member if he/she is active all over and replies to others threads he /she is most likely to get Loyalist replies from other members...

and SO on ;)
other fatcors exsist But currently cant recall

I suppose not copying and pasting + it being somehow serious, that works great to bring the thread sky high..

man ur ego is way too high up :p .. i think a thread needs a catchy title .. members who post in it could have a slight impact in making the thread exciting .. but unless you get me proof that that is right, then ill agree .. but now iam -->

be around more often and you will get what I mean

otherwise as I said other contributory factors play a big role in the catchyness of a thread :duh:

If u r good friends with the MODS like DD or thug4life or NABHAN then it will 100pc be successful because it won't be LOCKED or DELETED.

^^^ sum1's not likin the mods here....

i think mainly a topic tht most ppl can relate 2 or have an opinion on, as well as not having 2 read really long articles.. & being posted & a good time helps as well... cuz sumtimes a new thread can be posted but @ a time when not many members r on & may go unnoticed 4 a while :)

Mmmm it depends how controversial the topic is - the more controversial, the more successful

Title catchiness, and topic controversy. Especially if it's about something EVERYONE can relate to or knows something about.

A controversial topic always has a large audience. I think the secret to keeping a thread alive and bubbling is to feed it like we grow plants. Water it once a while i.e., the owner of the post keeps encouraging replies, debates the reply etc.. that'd probably get others coming back

it all depends on the tpic name, every poster would think of a title that would attract anyone to read. just like the author when he chooses a title for his book

"Write about gays, women rights, and Iraqi War. And then, you'll see the entire world will stand complaining & protesting, but, when you stop and ask them - Can you please provide solutions instead? - They go quiet, and that's where all threads die"

sometimes it'z the user who started that thread not the topic which grab ppl attention, n vice versa.i.e some users r more likely 2 click on a thread by an old member *A* than a user *B* who's only been here for a couple of weeks n his/her thread is more likely 2 be about somethin' inane or an avatar/signature ! dont get me wrong but that's the way some ppl think!

addressed threads , gays , woman , religion and politics always get the attention simply coz every1 has an opinion on that .

okay .. check this out .. wat if you see that the last person who posted has very high rep points .. would you respect that person more, and answer after him/her? .. in other words, does respect have an effect?
