I got sick and tired of feeling tired out and sluggish a lot of the time. I remembered how great I used to feel when I was a "health freak." I've decided to go back on a health kick and wondered if anyone wants to join me.

I went to the health food store yesterday and bought a lot of fresh vegetables, fruit, whole grains, whole grain cereals, and dried fruit. I also bought millet, whole wheat flour, and yeast to start making homemade bread again. I bought a big bag of frozen mixed fruit to add to the fresh fruit (including bananas) and plain, nonfat yogurt to make smoothies. I pulled out my old cookbooks where I'd written down recipes that I used to make. I am so excited about this.

I started taking vitamins/herbs again last week, and I already feel 100% better! I just want to make sure that I don't take too much or too little of something. Some vitamins work best as a team, and I don't want to end up depleting myself of one vitamin because I take too much of another vitamin, for example. I read that I shouldn't be taking Gingko Biloba along with lovastatin, so I quit taking the Gingko right away.

Tonight I'm going to make a Chinese stir fry over whole grain rice. I'm going to use a tiny bit of chicken, celery, broccoli, a little bit of fresh ginger, bok choy, a few bean sprouts, a few sliced water chestnuts, scallions (green onions), mushrooms (wish I had shi take mushrooms filter filtered out the word, so I changed it), fresh garlic, soy sauce, canola oil, and a little sesame oil. Oh, and I'll add a little spicy Chinese black bean sauce to it, too.

If anyone else wants to join me in going on a health kick, post some ideas for recipes and so on here. We can motivate each other. Seriously, I started doing this about a week or two ago, and I feel so much better and have mondo energy!! My mother and sister have both noticed a big difference in me. I've noticed a huge difference in the way I feel!
