So last night I went to this popular restaurant in town for dinner, and I didn't really enjoy eating there. Not only did the food taste weird (wasn't cooked properly, cheese wasn't melted completely), but they got my drink wrong, and also when I was done eating and wanted the bill I waved like mad and no one came to clear the table and give me the bill.

So, I decided to fill out their feedback card and I circled POOR for their service, and AVERAGE for the quality of food. When I handed it over to one of the waiters, he got all worked up and asked me why I gave them really low ratings. After I explained and justified what I had written, he still nagged me and told me that I was only going to get them (the waiters) in trouble. I replied, "Do you want me to lie? Because I'm not gonna lie. If your service had been better then I would've given you a better rating, but in all honesty, it really sucked today, none of the waiters were being attentive, you were all standing there talking and laughing, giving us your backs, and I think it needs to be improved so this is why I filled out the card".

The guy probably hates my guts, but too bad for him. They brought it on themselves.

Anyway, my question is, do you fill out those cards at restaurants? How honest are you when you do fill them out?

^^1st of all..he's from the istiqbal 'reception' which u marked POOR....now that was harsh...cause i didnt find anything wrong with it..OTHER than thier bad service...which is not only the 1st time that it happens..

He told me he was part of the Reception, and I said, "I know I'm just GIVING you the card. I marked the box that said SERVICE as POOR." The guy's a dumbass. What's so difficult to understand?!

You just take the card, I'm not rating YOUR personal performance as a receptionist/whatever it is you are, but the waiters as a team. None of them were attentive.

I'm pretty honest about them, but unfortunately there was one restaurant which I expected to be really good but the waiters were really pretentious and snobby which was sooo rude, and the service was all-round TERRIBLE. The thing is, THEY didn't have comment cards, so I couldn't tell them what a sh!tty job they were doin, so I just had to resort to huffing and sighing everytime a waiter passed by and ignored me :p

I probably won't be going there again since I'm leaving Oman soon, and anyway next time I go I doubt they'll remember me :) (at least I hope they won't)

Anyway, it'd be very stupid and juvenile of them to spit in my food or mess it up somehow. I was just being honest, and they did suck, so it's their own fault.

Because he was being so thick! He didn't understand what I was saying, and I explained like 2-3 times. There wasn't even a box marked RECEPTION, there was only a SERVICE box, and that's the one I rated!!! I have very low tolerance for stupid people.

Serving people food isn't rocket science. Anyone can do it, and despite how easy it is, some of them still can't do it right. Argh. :lift: Plus, the whole restaurant was practically empty. It's not like they were so busy and stressed out.

I hardly ever comment, but when I do, its in similar situtations like this one.

1. I suggest you watch a movie called "Waiting".

2. I have worked the lines when I was in school and desperately short of money. I've had my share of annoying customers who just love to live by the "the customer is always right" motto. Unless you sweat it out on a 8-9 hour day shift because you're desperately short of $$ and take as much sh!t from customers as possible till the very last minute, you wouldn't really know the feeling. Delivery people who hardly get tipped (which is a major part of their income as delivery drivers) also live the same experience.

3. A couple of my friends own restaurant chains and have worked in a few others as well. Trust me when I say this... if you give them sh!t, they'll probably serve you sh!t with a smiling face.

4. If the service was truly horrible, complain to the boss and make sure you never go there in the near future.

I only fill out feedback cards when the service, etc. is very disappointing, and I prefer slipping it into a box than directly handing it in to the receptionist.

one time i went out with my cousins we went to al bahja cinema, we were hungry so we decide to eat there,, and ofcourse there are no good restaurants in al bahja ,, anyways we went to this reataurant (its called chicking if any1 knows it :XD: ? ) and we got a comment card with the meal ,, so my crazy cousin gave them "poor" in everything,, and bad and rude comments (i know hes stupid :( ) anyways when we gave them their card back,, god they became soo mad ! lol it was soo funny we kept on laughing,,
after giving them that card,, we went back 2 oa table and filled another card,, this time we ticked "excellent" akthar shay,,
so when we went to givem the card,, lo0ooool they tore it !! yes that man was soo angy that he tore the card infront of us ! :XD: he didnt even read it,, i think he thought we r gunna b mean again he saw were just bunch of crazy teenagers :mmhmm: ,,,

anyways i hate that restaurant and i dont wanna go back there again :mmhmm:

and then all of my friends got what they ordered except me ,, i waited alot,, then i asked him why is that ,,, he was like " ohhhhhh i forgot to tell,, 5alla9 ,, ma 3indina"

well .. the feedbacks sould have a box for it ,, also if there wasnt a box ,, the waiters should not see the feedbacks when u r sitting there ,, they must read it after you leave :)

I rarely fill those cards, & if I do I usually leave before they read what I've written. I doubt they even read it, unless you hand it to them personally!

I understand if it was very busy that night, then I can't really expect them to be very attentive, they'd be rushing to get the food to all the customers, but on that particular night the place was empty. It was just my group, and 3 or 4 other customers. Plus, they charge us for service, and I don't think they deserved to be paid anything for that sort of service. Also, if you're not gonna get the order right, then write it down - use a notepad.

Anyway, yeah they'd probably spit in my food next time. Guess I should stay away.

My dad usually hands me his pen and the comment cards when we're done eating at a specific restaurant, so I could fill it up. I usually fill it up whether the service was good or bad - not just when it is bad. It has become like an automatic thing that I do every time I'm with my family dining outside.

Chilli's used to be great! They would sing us happy birrrrrrthday 6oo yoooo like every week and they never complained that we did it for the same person every single time loool :p

I do it for the fun of it!! Lol! But Chillis?? That egyptian guy, I really wanted to slaughter him this once!! Actually, more than once..

It was Nandos not Mac Donalds, and apparantly he went back to the philipenes and called me twice from there. I told him I'm married and for him to leave me alone!

I would've reported him, while he was still in Oman, I'd go back to the restaurant, ask to speak to the manager and tell them one of their employees has been calling from number so and so. :p

I never leave a number or email address. I even put a fake name down.

I sometimes fill in the comments card and am always honest, but, sometimes I make the card look messy for fun with alot of signs. and stuff like Viva La Real Madrid! written on, etc lol :p
Once, I went to this restaurant and it sucked big time! I told one of the waiters that I was a food critic, haha! It's a long story and it was one hell of a funny night. They ended up giving me a three months free meal voucher, lol.

But do you know the real reasons of such cards to be filled ? I will tell you :) . Every years there is a competition of which is the Restaurant of the year or the best outlet of the year and its quite important to win the trophy since all the Restaurants including hotels are seeking such trophy .. The problem is that The real restaurants get nothing but few trophies because the fast food chains have more people coming and more people filling the cards and its announced with a big Ceremony ... normally its done in Al Bustan Hotel where it is a big event and its mentioned in the newspapers and its works as a credit for the Hotel or the restaurant . Last year believe it or not Pizza Hut was one of the winners can you imagine that ?

i hated kfc once,, i ordered and then like waited for 1-2 hours !! and still didnt get my order,,, then i called again,, they went like"we're on oua way",,
