Do you worry about your online friends?

When I read blogs and sites like English Sabla, I get to know and like people. When they tell about their problems, I think and worry about them!

And when they disappear, I really worry!

Of course, most of the time they are OK--having fun or distracted by duties. And usually they cope with their problems like we all have to try to do.

But still, I worry. Sometimes I lie awake worrying about them. And all for people whose names I may not know, who I have never visited, and who I would pass in the street without recognition! :-D

Do you think it makes sense? Do you worry about your online friends and acquaintances too? Or do you think it's silly and distracts from real life?

...Too be honest some Ppl dont think online friends aint reality but to me mostly everything is reality and i would say yes i do worry about my friends sometimes as well...and i do wish i have seen em but its all a matter of time and well i do help in any way i can and always try to cheer em up... i dont even care if there online friends or ppl i dont even know that randomly add me i always like to help anyone in anyway... :rolleyes:

thats really nice, i hope everyday ur happy & just knowin ur happy makes me happy :cute: but about it paying back kind of stuff well i have a friend thats not a friend well use to be now hes s0o0o rude!!! callin me ugly and stuff i dont take it to the heart i ignore or saying something dumb back l0o0ol....but every time he wants me im there for him and i wonder why i just keep helpin him i may be nice but only to ppl that deserve it

Seriously, good deeds always get paid back. Maybe he is unfair to you, but you will find someone who will do even more for you than you do for them sometime!

It shows how nice somebody is. I might worry, but not for long.

No really unless it's something tagic.

Jeff, most of the time, writing about something particularly not nice might make you worry but that's the aim of the post, explaining what's not going well in my life [or his or hers], usually the initiator does not include all the good or nice things that are happenining concurrently with the bad ones, so you get an inaccurate picture as a reader of what this person is actually going through.

So don't fret, we're all okay :D

I do, I do worry, not when they complain about whats not going right in thier life .. because like lym I agree people usually talk about whats wrong in thier life not whats right.. but when I feel I might lose contact with them for a reason or another
I get attached easily to people I like, and I find it hurtful really .. I like to keep people I like always around me and making sure they are fine :)

Most of my online friends are friends I actually know.. The only online friends considered to be "strangers" are the ones I know from the English Sabla..
Who I dont meet regularly, but they've become my close friends!

I worry about Lym when she has an exam and hasnt slept all night, I worry about Nabhan when he has a project to hand in or when he doesn't reply to my PMs or text :p, I worry about TripleTee, Libbyand Senorita when they don't reply to my text (lol), I worry about Kamakazy when he comes back from a trip and doesn't tell me about it (rofl).. I worry about Dede when I havent heard from him in such a long time!! (LIKE NOW!) I worry about Homeless when she hasn't sent text or emails in a while.

I'm usually a worry wart! I worry about everything and everyone!

I do worry about some of my friends, esp cos it's hard for me to ask them whats going on, so I just wait and wonder what I could do if I knew them better, cause I dont want them to think that I'm intruding on something which may be too personal :os... but I think it's completely normal to worry about them, regardless of how you met them, they're friends at the end of the day!

I do care about my online friends and always try to help them overcoming there problems. a friend is a friend i never how life goes on. One day i might be in need of my online friend

yeah i guess i would worry abt some of my online friends, but in a healthy way... as in i wont kill myself abt it. cuz the thing with me is i dont get 2 attached 2 many things (but once im attached its hard 2 get me off :) ) its reasonable 2 care abt them bcuz even if u may never know them if u meet them somewhere u still know a gr8 deal abt them (unless they'r lying 2 u :))
i would worry & try 2 offer som advice if they ever need any, & will try 2 think of anythin gi can do 2 help but i wont push it cuz i wouldnt want 2 be out of line with them in trying 2 get involved in something tht's personal or just isnt any of my business :)

I only worry about the people who became more than just 'online friends'. I don't consider Blind Melon , Thug , Tee ..and others who think about me and ask me about whats going on in my life as online friends... I think of them as real friends whom I can rely on and trust. Regarding The rest whom I casually chat or talk to..hmm..not so much...I don't see the point of bothering myself thinking about people who probably never think of me.

to be honest behind the other screen there is another human being and some have feelings (could u imagine that lol :p) and yes i do worry about them sometime when they dont come online for long time though it depend which person 'cause i won't care of some and care more for others which is normal i think .. u cant like everybody on earth :p

Yes! This I feel sooooo much. But somehow it's easy to forget it and just think of them like entertainment... But I forgot how to do that! They're all so real to me now...

"intruding" Yeah, I know. And worrying can be intrusive, so I try not to push it on people too much. But on the other hand, they mostly seem to like it a lot if they know somebody cares.

I worry a lot too! but, I'm trying to put some limits...it rarely works though. :D

personally i have alot of very close friends that i just know them from the internet so ya i woory about them n think about them if they have preoblems just like my friends that i see them face to face every day but of course not all of my internet friends :D

Hmm I don't really worry unless they've disappeared for like weeks or months especially if it was someone I chat to on a regular basis and informs me about his/her whereabouts all the time..

some people like to act all dramatic and make up lies just to get ur attention..

i love making friends from all over.. n internet is a way.. n very fun way.. though i limit my choices a lot to specific limites...
