I got this from one of the sites...and I really loved it...i thought of sharing it with you guys...and tell me what do you think of it...or does a man like this exist anymore?

Many men just want to take value from the world. They want to take more money, more women, more property, more power, more respect. Ask most men what they want: “I want to make a lot of money.” Or, “I want to be the boss of my own company.” They think if they get more, they will be more. And most of us believe that a man who has more, is more of a man than one who has less.

And maybe it’s not their fault that they think this way. Most of society measures a man by what he gets. The more money he makes, the more respect his job commands, the more attention he receives from women – the more he gets, the more of a man he is. Such men are usually the envy of other men, and they are seen as prizes in the eyes of women. That is why some parents push their sons to achieve more – achieve more so they can get more and be more in the eyes of their fellow men.

But I think the real value of a man is not in the value of what he takes, but in the value of what he gives to those around him. And there is so much he can give – and the least of these is money. For a man can give of his power, respect, strength, knowledge, wisdom, and perhaps most of all, his time and love. Unlike money, which is easily spent, these are things a man can give without end.

Where does such a man get what he gives? From himself. When a man is down, he must find a way to pull himself up. When a man suffers, he draws upon his inner strength to survive. When a man is lost, he must find his way. When a man is faced with hard choices, he alone must decide the better or the worse. When none respect him, he must respect himself. When all around him is chaos and war, he must have order and peace within himself. For in the end, the essence of a man is not in what he has, but in what he is – his character, his principles, his wisdom, his heart, and his purpose. And none of these are found in the world, for they must be cultivated inside the man himself. And the man who cultivates these things, builds his riches and his life.

A real man gives not just to his family and friends, but also to those he meets within his life. For a real man represents the race of humankind. Every real man is like the bedrock of his community; firm, hidden, but present. For as a man is, so his community is also. A real man adds to, not diminishes, the quality of life of those around him. A real man creates life, not destroys it. A real man inspires the boys around him to become their own men. For a real man does not simply take care of others, but also shows them how to take care of themselves, because he knows that one day his time will pass. And so a real man shines not just because of his own light and success, but also because of the light and success he has helped others to find within themselves. That is the true nature of the real man – the provider, protector, benefactor, and leader. Such a man earns real love, respect, and power from those around him. Such a man lives long after he dies. For what a man takes from the world, will also one day be taken from him, but what he has given to others remains in the lives of others, and becomes a part of them, and so remains in the world long after his passing.

^^Hahaha :p

I think personality and all that is important - you know what the above essay stated- but his job is also important. For you to survive well in this day and age, you can't disregard his materialistic means. Remember, money is the most common cause of divorce.
