Great my team Valencia won their match, though the goals they received were really big mistakes in the deep part of the back line. But, Morientes was the man of the match, he made a hatrick.

For the rest of the matches, no surprises. Maybe except for Inter Milan failing again! & Liverpool playing for a point!

Rossonero

hahahaha Inter hhahahhah...

Totti's goal is wonderful..Nice to see Valencia winning.

Lyon 2 - 0 Real Madrid.
... Frustration, frustration, frustraion.. ugh!
What is this? The Lyon Curse?!
Both teams started off well, untill the goals came from Lyon, Fred you suck! (yes, iam angry) Seems like Real Madrid got a spirit down and confidence bla bla, low condition or shall i say kept going lower after the goals or.. oh, God. =(
I started to get really angry on those long on ground passes of Real's and the long passes, bloody too long! ugh! and they have lost some unbelieve-able chances!
Cannavaro, dude.. what was that?! please, just never again.. Casillas! I was just thanking God for having u in Real Madrid and that mistake cost us a goal! =( it was nice seeing Juninho vs. Casillas there, though. Nice shots and good saves.. =| Good pairings there with Lyon.. nice..
We need some Serious work! oh, and yeah, stupid referee..
and if that commentator was infront of me, I would've choked him! lol, he got on my nerves.
Reyes, Cici, Becks... and some. ur efforts are appreciated.
oh, well, atleast Man. U. and AC Milan won and I owe my cousin dinner tomorrow night.

Rossonero

They say real madrid's season starts when they score many goals in one match, unfortunately (for them) when they do that ... ... they lose the next game..

And they did..

Milan dominated the game played very well. I knew that Gourcuff would do great, he did and he scored a goal..

I watched the 1st half of Real Madrid X Lyon match, & I was disappointed. Real wasn't to the level I expected them to be, but nice saves from the GK. Lyon was attacking more, & they were in control of the match more, & Juninho was great at the match. Uhh, too bad Real Madrid lost. :(

NiGhTFaCe

Its funny how Lyon did it again :D They were talking about Real Madrid being different this season, talking about their changes for the back line. But, by watching the match, they were the same last season against Lyon, even worse.

Disapointing result for Milan, read that Dida was superman in the match, Gila, Kaka and Seedorf missed hanfulls of chances.

Ultimate match of the day:
Liverpool Vs. Galatasaray.
Also, followed by Valencia Vs. Roma
There were funny events too, lol.
This day should be marked for wonderful goals.
Very nice of Luis Garcia's and an awesome one by Crouch.
also, the two goals from Galatasaray, the same but opposite side. nice. Also, Olympiakos first goal was nice, good effort there by Castillo. Valencia's first goal was nice too.
Poor Puyol, lol. Barca got lucky with that goal from Messi, in the nick of time.
Inter ma menhom fayda :p (no use) lol.
Today's matches were nice. Entertaining.

I am glad to see my team Valencia winning this tough match against Roma, Villa is always there to show how important he is.

Galatasaray woke up. But, maybe it was already late. The 3rd goal for Liverpool, the one by Crouch was something.

Inter Milan lost by the mistake of their back line.

I am happy that Barcelona made it a draw, that was a great play by Messi.

Bluez vs Barca again n again ! giantz meet for the 3rd successive yr, but this time is abit earlier , in the stage groups. We all remember , Chelsea knowcked Barca out two seasonz ago ,, n Barca knowcked chelsea last season on their way to get the title !

This time itz diff, no knock outz , but still a promizin' mach awaitin' in Stamford Bridge , n i would say a must see ! So howz both team doin' in their local league n previous matches in CL ?! OK ..letz see :

Barca : leaderz La Liga with 16 points out of 6 matches , 5 winz n one draw 3 points ahead of Valencia n Ateltico Madrid. Despite lossin' Eto's for the comin' months but they r doin' great so far. Played 2 gamez in the CL , got 4 points , n they r 3 points behind group leader Chelsea.

Chelsea: top of the premiership along with Man U , each with 19 points out of 8 matches,, 6 winz , a draw , n loss , n top of the CL group with 6 points out of 6 !The team is still waitin' for Sheva to be in his real form since he has only scored 2 goals since he joined the team last summer from AC Milan.
Chelsea could be disadvantaged bythe absence of his 1st choice goal keeper " Peter Cech" or 2nd choice " Carlo Cudicini " coz both were injured n taken to hospital on Sat'z match at Readin' at which they win 1-0 !

Go Chelsea !

Chelsea Vs. Barcelona, Haha! :D
The game was on fire, esp. the second half. It was on a fast tempo with the start of it with both teams wanting to score the first goal, it was obvious that there would be goals even if one but, wouldn't be a goal-less match. I was sure if it would come from Chelsea's side, must be Drogba! and there he was, well played by him. There were some amazing chances missed by Chelsea, Shev. was trying but, just seemed not getting it right. Good performance by the Chelsea goalkeeper, good defending by their side as well. We didn't get to see Ronaldinho's magic, as from the previous Barca match showed that he'd be coming on to Chelsea with a warning but, the Chelsea players knew how to stop him from getting anywhere. Deco! LOL! what was he thinking? He would've got himself a red card if the refree noticed him on the second time's fault. I liked Chelsea's enthutiasm after the goal. Barca. were good on the re-op. fast attacking but, they couldn't make it through in the end and the last mins. were putting pressure on 'em. I think the Barca. goalkeeper was low, quite low, he would've brought an easy goal on himself also when he kinda messed up while sending off the ball again, he made a wrong pass. I enjoyed watching the match, a nice one.

Valencia's first goal, I thought Villa wouldn't make it but, he did and the second, Joaquin was in the right place at the right time, lovely.

But there was this wonderful build up play to score a goal, but Zambrotta kicked the air instead of the ball.

Barcelona were not as determined as usual. Deco should be subbed, he sure is useless (my opinion) he slows the tempo.

and for sure Barca want nothing but three points of the match ! coz they're a lil bit non stable especially after their defeat against rival Real !and they know another defeat will mean start worryin' about their chances to go through to knock out rounds ! Coz they have 4 points same as German Ferder Bremen.

Rijkaard mentioned soemthing about changin the strategy of the team , so let see what they have for us .

On the other Hnad, Cheslea doin well so far , top of premiership i.c.w mAN u

First half finished . Barca 1 - 0 Chelsea .

But it wasn't really good half . Started good but it turned to bemore like a rugby match other than footie . I think around 3-5 yellow cards awarded .

And Shely Cole got 2 Yellows if am not msitaken , n the referee didnt give him the red card . Unless the first yellow card wasn't for him .

I hope to see a better 2nd half.

Navigator
01-11-06, 01:49 AM
It'z indeed a better 2nd half . final score draw 2-2 !

2nd half full of everythin' Started with Chelsea tryin' to level the score , and that's happened by Lampard , he scored an amazing goal ! I bet Valdez will never forget that goal. Then Barca got back in action again this time by Gudjhonsen who scored against his ex team .BUT Drogba had somethin' in store for Barca as he scored the equaliser in 3 min of the injury time.

IN general it was great game especially the 2nd half . There were not many chances for scoring for each team . Yet each team ensured making full use of every single chance.Again Roni wasn't in his real form , and Messi played well.A total of 10 ( iguess) yellow cards been given " 6 Chelsea 4 Barca"

Now Barca is abit in danger , Chelsea reached 10 points , Bremen won their match n reached 7 points . While Barca only with 5 points.

Khalid Boulohrouze isn't really up for such a team like Chelsea , he was the weakest player in Chelsea team n both of Barca's goals came from his side .

I got to watch the last 20 minutes of Chelsea VS Barcelona game. Barcelona was almost taking the match, Messi & Deco were great. I cant believe they couldnt take the match out with the 3 points.
They could have stopped Chelsea's attack. But, they did nothing.

Great Valencia came out with a point, it gave them 10 minutes, so they are qualifying.

Sheva the outcast
Crocked Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o has claimed that Andriy Shevchenko made a mistake in moving from Milan to Chelsea in the summer. “I have many friends at Chelsea and we often speak,” he said. “He is perceived as Roman Abramovich’s pet and he doesn’t get clean assists to score. I believe Shevchenko has made a mistake. At Milan everyone plays football and for a forward this is crucial because you have more scoring possibilities. Chelsea play more defensive football and the two strikers struggle.”

Alberto Gilardino was overjoyed at finally ending his Champions League curse, scoring his second goal in five days.

“It was important to win and my goal came too, so it was doubly satisfying. After the derby it was crucial to show our character and I think we did that today,” said the striker after Milan’s 4-1 victory against Anderlecht.

Gilardino had never before scored in the Champions League, but netted in the final minutes to round off the scoreline.

Much of the credit for the victory goes to Kaka, however, after he bagged a sensational hat-trick.

“Kaka is a phenomenon. He’s a great player, champion and man. As long as he’s playing like this, then Milan can’t help but be in good shape.”

The Rossoneri needed a confidence booster after their two consecutive Serie A home defeats to Palermo and rivals Inter, leaving them 14 points adrift of the leadership.

“We’ve had a few slip-ups this season, but have the time to make up for it and continue to compete in every tournament,” insisted Gilardino.

Im glad that Gilardino is back to scoring, this is his first goal in the Champions league, the goal was nice, reminded me of his Parma days, superb goals back then, he was a goal machine.

Its a good week for Gila, as he netted to goals this week. Looks like Gila wont stop now :) (inshala)

I just read in socernet that Chelsea might face a fine coz of the yellow cards they got durin' the match , it's mentioned that any team exceeds 5 yellow cards get fined . Plus that Barca might face fine too coz of their fans behaviour " throwin' bottles on Chelsea players " Not to mention what Rijkaaard did after the final whistle .

The reason i said they won is because Morinho and his team came to campnu wanting atleast a draw. and they've achived it.

well, you could be right ! n after all a draw wasn't bad for the Blues , but that's only becoz they are top of the group with 5 points diff " b4 playin the match" But if the situation were diff. Then for sure Cheslea will go for it!

And dont forget that now the Europian champions are endangered of bein kicked out in the group stages , they 're now 3rd in the group "5 points" Bremen ahead of them , n the German aren't bad at all , n got very good strickers.

Here is what Ancelotti said before the match, today morning

Carlo Ancelotti is confident Milan will wrap up qualification at AEK Athens on Tuesday. “We’ll return here for the Champions League Final,” he said.

The Rossoneri need a point to reach the knock-out stages of the competition in a stadium which will host the 2007 European Cup finale in May.

“A draw would be sufficient, but AEK’s quality has improved since September and we must be very careful,” said Ancelotti, whose side beat the Greeks 3-0 at the San Siro in Matchday 1.

“They will give their all, but we will do the same. I hope the team will show the same determination I saw in Empoli on Saturday.

“Our main objective is to be sure of qualification,” added the Coach.

However, Ancelotti expects his struggling Serie A side to face some difficulties this evening in an atmosphere which is expected to be hot.

“I’m worried by the fact AEK have won all of their points at home,” he added. “They play with the same strength home and away, but the extra factor is their fans.

“I am sure it will be a very entertaining and open game because both sides want to win.

“I don’t want to talk about our recent bad luck as we don’t want any alibis. I can only say that luck favours the brave and I guess that Milan are not brave at the moment.”

The match is scheduled at the Olympic Stadium in Athens, a venue that brings back happy memories for the Rossoneri.

“It’s an important stadium for us because this is the city where we won the Champions League in 1994 [4-0 against Barcelona]. We are now here to test the pitch and return for the Final.”

The Rossoneri were reportedly interested in AEK goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino, as Nelson Dida is yet to extend his contract, but Ancelotti has dismissed all rumours.

“Sorrentino is a good player but we already have three goalkeepers and we aren’t interested in him,” concluded the tactician.

The Rossoneri, currently on 10 points, have never lost to Greek opposition in European competition, while the other game in Group H will see Lille play against Anderlecht.

Valencia played good at the end of the 1st half, where they scored the 1st goal, & contiuned that to score the 2nd, where we can see the goals were at the '45 & '46.

I guess scoring the two goals goes to that the front line was in form last night, talking about Angulo, Joaquin, Morientes & David Silva, though David Villa got injured after 20 minutes after starting the game.

I guess they should check the midfield, we have a problem there & that young player Pallardó doesnt fit in that place.

There is one match from each group that is a must watch.

Group A
I would love to see a result that would qualify both, Barçelona and Bremen.

Group B
Lets hope for an impressive result from Bayern Munchen at the Allianz Arena

Group C
Galatasaray vs Liverpool, this sounds interesting, two good sides. I think it'll be a draw, 1-1, or one of the sides will win 2-1

Group D
I like both sides, want both to qualify, but I want Roma to win this one, its time for them to show a good performance in the champions league

Group E
Dynamo Kiev are capable of beating a shaky Madrid side. They are at home, that is an advantage. Lets hope for a positive result for Kiev.

Group F
Manchester United and Benfica. I would love to see Benfica get a great result from Old Trafford. Would like to see them win the game.

Group G
Porto and Arsenal, I think arsenal will win this one, they kissed the premier league goodbye and are only focusing on the champions league

Group H
It sounds easy, but it isnt. I would love to see a great performance by Milan. Yes they already qualified at the top of the group, but this match should be continuing their fine performance just like at Messina and Brescia. Would love to see Gourcuff play this one and show the whole world how great he is.

Milan striker Marco Borriello has admitted that he is desperate to make the starting XI for Wednesday’s Champions League tie with Lille.

The 24-year-old scored his first League goal for the Rossoneri on Sunday in the 2-2 draw at Cagliari, having previously only scored in the Coppa Italia against Ancona and Brescia.

“Yesterday was very satisfying for me – even if we didn’t win we reacted well in the second half of the match,” said Borriello on Monday.

“I had other opportunities to score at the end, but I was not calm enough. However this is not a problem, as it is good experience for me.

“When you return to playing after a long time there are some things missing, but then when you play more you get a feel for things and the confidence of your teammates increases.

“I don’t know if I will play on Wednesday, but I hope I can in order to improve my condition. Winning with a goal would be a great sign,” concluded Borriello.

In the meantime, defender Alessandro Nesta underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder on Monday in Milan.

The exact time needed for his full recovery will be evaluated in the upcoming days, although he may be sidelined for as long as three months.

I noticed that now Ancelotti uses him in every match. Let's hope if he starts this time, he does something useful. That goal against Cagliari was WONDERFUL

Rossonero
05-12-06, 10:36 PM
Carlo Ancelotti has asked his Milan side to perform against Lille, even though they have already qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League.

The Rossoneri were defeated by AEK Athens two weeks ago, but were confirmed as winners of Group H thanks to the draw between Anderlecht and the French outfit.

“The Champions League is our main objective every season and this year it is the same,” said Ancelotti in the Press conference at Milanello on Tuesday.

“We want to win tomorrow, for two different reasons,” added the tactician.

“First of all a victory would help us in this difficult moment, then many accused us of not being a serious club at the start of the campaign and we want to prove that is not the case.

“I have not yet decided which starting line-up I will field, although both Massimo Ambrosini and Kaka should be available.”

The Rossoneri have been hit by an injury crisis, but the former Juventus Coach deflected questions about possible new arrivals after Christmas.

“The club may decide to make some moves on the market in January, but this will not depend on the Champions League,” he added.

“We are just hoping that most of our injured players will have recovered by then.”

Ancelotti was then inevitably asked to comment on the betting investigation which does include two of his squad – Zeljko Kalac and Marek Jankulovski.

“These two players will be focused on the match and I am sure this issue will not distract them,” he continued.

“What happened during the summer is only the tip of the iceberg, but I believe illegal betting is an entirely different problem.

“In any case, there is a federal rule that says that FIGC members must not bet and that rule should always be respected.”

Roma will have to do without captain Francesco Totti for their vital Champions League clash with Valencia on Tuesday.

The Spanish outfit have already qualified for the knockout stage and the Giallorossi still need one point to guarantee their progress to the next stage of the tournament.

“Totti will not be part of the squad because he hurt his ankle on Saturday, but I am confident he can recover in time for the derby with Lazio next weekend,” said Coach Luciano Spalletti.

“I also have doubts over Simone Perrotta, I hope he will be able to play but I cannot guarantee this will be the case. If he does not recover, I have several alternatives.

“Both Vincenzo Montella and Mirko Vucinic are feeling well, although it is normal for them to not be at their best seeing as they are not playing with continuity,” concluded the tactician.

Valencia are also facing an injury crisis and will travel to Italy with only 18 players, including several youngsters.

“This is not an easy moment for us, but tomorrow’s match will give us the chance to field our younger players and show our value,” explained Valencia’s sporting director Amedeo Carboni.

“Fernando Morientes and David Villa are both out, so the only striker available is Francesco Tavano and then we have four young forwards, all 21-year-olds.

“I am glad to be in Roma, where I played for seven years and I also wore the captain’s armband.

“I am very relaxed, since we are already qualified and we can play without worrying about having to win at all costs,” concluded the former Sampdoria and Roma defender.

I went to the pub in the students union to watch a match. It was Galatasaray vs Liverpool.

It started alright, both teams attacking but Galatasaray were more brave when they attacked. The match started to get exciting after Fowler's goal. I had fun rooting for Galatasaray with some English people sitting next to me.

At about 31st minute a friend called me and asked me to go to this arabic resturant and watch Barçelona. I did so, luckily they had ART SPORT! Wow, when was the last time I watched that channel? with the voice of Khalid Al-Ghoul?

Barça..It was alright, i made it just before 1st half ended. Klose tried to score numerous times but couldnt. He got past 4 Barçelona defenders and was very unlucky.

Diego impressed me, its the first time I see him play. He played very well. Loved his skills and courage. What I did not like was his Brazilian Ghetto attitude, nearly at the end of the match he tackled Marquez just because he was pissed off.

Ronaldinho did some nice moves, many were not completed. I loved his goal, very cheeky. However, I think he still did not come back to his old form, last year's form. Ever since the Champions league final he did not play well, even in the CL final.

Guily, what can I say, the same with Gudjohnson. I mean, they just miss the easiest of chances. They have great quality within them but just miss the chances by their stupidity infront of goal.

I wanted Bremen to score, just to heat the match up for a little bit. But Bremen with that attitude and type of play wouldnt've scored at anytime. Barça's defence was shaky sometimes. Loved that last minute tackle by Thuram.

No big hopes for Roma allthough i want them to win atleast in Italy so they can get some cash out of it:).

I would love to see Roma out of the Cl, that will help them to concetrate on the Calcio.

Matches im looking fwd too, Porto X Chelsea, Milan x Celtic, Madrid x Byern, Inter x Valancia and Roma x Lyon.

After Villa's arrival i think that Inter is going to strugle in Spain and maybe in Italy! But i really hope that they stay in CL, that would give Palermo and Roma more chance;s to win the league.

Filippo Inzaghi will miss Milan's UEFA Champions League trip to Celtic due to injury.

The experienced striker has failed to shake off a muscle strain in time to make the squad for the game at Parkhead on Tuesday.

His place in Carlo Ancelotti's squad has been taken by Davide Di Gennaro, who has yet to play for the Milan first team.

Inzaghi's absence merely compounds the Rossoneri's striking problems for the first leg of the last 16 clash with the Scottish champions.

January signing Ronaldo, who scored twice in Saturday's 4-3 win over Siena, is ineligible, while Marco Boriello is suspended.

That leaves Ancelotti with just Alberto Gilardino, who is nursing a knock, and Ricardo Oliveira as the only senior strikers in Milan's squad

It could have been satisfying if Valencia lost 1/2. But, ending with a draw in Internazionale's, so that is great! Even though they could have turned winning it. Two amazing goals by Villa & Silva.

Barcelona's back line mistakes caused them this. If they can show themselves as the champions of the UEFA, so they can come back.

PSV Eindhoven have confirmed that defender Alex will miss their UEFA Champions League double-header with Liverpool.

The Brazilian central defender tore his hamstring at the weekend whilst in Eredivisie action against Excelsior.

Alex, who scored the goal which knocked Arsenal out in the previous round, was still hoping to be involved against Liverpool in the quarter-finals next month - but it has now been confirmed that he will not feature.

PSV have revealed that scans have confirmed a partial tear, which means Alex is likely to be sidelined for around six weeks.

Bayern Munich have been dealt a setback following confirmation that Mark van Bommel will miss both legs of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final with Milan.

The Dutch midfielder was expected to miss the first leg against Milan after picking up two bookings during the second leg win over Real Madrid in the previous round.

But his dismissal at the Allianz Arena has prompted Uefa to activate a one-match suspended sentence which had been hanging over Van Bommel from the first leg with Real Madrid.

Van Bommel was charged with making inappropriate gestures to Real fans after scoring at the Santiago Bernabeu and Uefa's rules allow them to trigger the suspended ban if another offence is committed, with the upshot being he will miss both games with the Rossoneri.

With all that pressure AC Milan putting on Bayern Munich at the half & especially after Pirlo's goal, I though they are taking the game for sure. They continued the same at the first minutes of the 2nd half, where it seemed Bayern Munich was out of the game until putting Pizarro in, I guess there was the turn.

AC Milan scored their 2nd by a penalty, where almost the same cause was refused at the first half, I agreed with the first decision, where the 2nd was unfair.

Germans play till the last seconds, AC Milan should have thought of this.

Valencia coming from London with a draw is good. Though the things could have turned better. I guess Vicente leaving at the 2nd half had an effect on Valencia. That was one great goal by David Silva.

Good for Roma, I guess it wasn't Manchester United's night, Roma took advantage of that.

Roma played really well, but didnt take advantages of the chances they had. They should've scored more. 2-1 Is not enough, especially that Man Utd will dominate in Old Trafford

Bayren deserved a second chance after the outstanding play from them in the second half ... Russian referees always against German clubs and the National team. Kaka was not on the form .. Lucio and Hargreves were the best to stop him ,, thtas why Milan wasnt as used to be .. Fantastic finishes by the german defender .. The second leg will be interesting
----------------------------------------------------------
Liverpooool was in the best form after the win over Arsenal in the anfield .
PSV misses Alex (Brazilian defender) the one who was the turning point in the Arsenal matches .. Psv goalkeeper tried his best but Liverpool wanted more.
Liverpool insures their place ..

Big Deal

Roma great performance from the first whistle .. I thought we gonna see more goals after Scholes .. 2-1 is not that good coz Man Utd has a great record in their pitch .. Totti deserved a goal but no luck .. Good performance
from all Roma players .. Mancini disappeared in the second half ..
------------------------------------------------------------
Valencia left England with a draw 1-1 which make it more difficult for
chelsea coz they will need a goal to stay in the competition ..
Great strike from Silva .. no way the goalkeeper could save it ..

Man Utd X Roma

Last news;
Man Utd :
The home side will be without Louis Saha after he suffered a recurrence of a hamstring injury in training.Paul Scholes is suspended following his sending off last week at the Stadio Olimpico with Darren Fletcher set to replace him in midfield. Gary Neville and Nemanja Vidic are both still missing in defence meaning John O'Shea and Wes Brown will continue to deputise.

Roma :
Roma are sweating over the fitness of Francesco Totti with the striker struggling with a hamstring strain. Totti is set to undergo a late fitness test on the injury, but he is widely expected to play.

Roma are set with only the suspended Simone Perrotta being replaced by David Pizarro, who was himself banned for the first leg.

It was dissapointing & more for Roma, watching the goals it was like Manchester United having a training.

Valencia VS Cheslea, the game wasn't interesting at all, I almost fall asleep. With that play, Valencia wouldn't deserve to qualify.
