Usually, when I face difficult days or moments, I don't really stand up long enough to solve them. I give up and go with the flow. Like when I am studying for an exam, if I don't understand something I'll go over it once only, if I don't get it, that's it! During exams, if I don't know the answer I'd just write anything to avoid leaving the paper blank. I don't spend time brain storming and thinking to get the right answer!
Also, when it comes down to games, I wouldn't go far to win! I would give it a try but not more than once to win! I give up very easily!
So many people I know, including my professors, say that I have a very strong personality, yet I don't work hard enough or give my best!!
How determinant are you? Do you give up easily or do you work very hard until you have used all of your options?
I can say that am a middle man in that...
When it comes some stuff, i just give up easily like learning games or a new skill....but sometimes i don't give up at all like in my study...even if the problem that am solving is not very important...i still spend lots of time to solve no matter what...and that can get really serious that i don't prepare for easier questions properly...:D...and then u know the result of that..:weep:

It depends what really, doesnt it. If its something I dont care about, I wont bother frustrating myself. But if its something important - or at least, important to me - then i get very, very stubborn.

Well, if you don't care about it, obviously you won't care to solve it! I am talking about things that are important in your life, or atleast that should be important.

Actually I would probably give up if I was held back for a looong time. Like I won't have any supernatural amazing strengths or iron/steel/lead determination, if I was left on my own. Usually it's because of encouragement or whatever from people around me. Otherwise NOTHING in my life would get done :p

it would depend on how important the thing is to me. I'd try for a while, if i see no results after a length of time.. i simply give up.

I myself, have a unique approach, I just try my best, then when I fail, I get depressed for a while, then I stand-up and try again. If I fail, I get more depressed then I stand-up again and try once more. If I fail in the third time, I get depressed the most, so I stand-up and try for a last time.
If I failed in the third and last time, I just go take a shower, have some sleep, and then wake up brain-washed. Which means I just start again and try my best, then when I fail, I got depressed, .... etc.
The time factor depends only on how difficult the problem I am facing is, and the clue is that I don't deny myself getting depressed from failure, but still don't let the depression take so long. The third most vital factor for the succeed of my technique is the "Brain-Washing" system, this is the most successful dump method I ever used in my life. That is why an ant is more successful than a human, because it is dump and doesn't learn to stop trying to climb up no matter how many times it did fall...The strange fact is that "IT ALWAYS SUCCEED TO REACH ITS DESTINATION".
Sometimes dumpness help with things which cleverness can't!

try getting someone with you who you could challenge yourself with...
having the support of a friend might help bring the competitiveness in you...
