I was wondering.. what does each person consider his or her religion in their everyday life?
Does religion controls ur life and actions ?? or u just take it as something separate from ur life as they say “ sa3a lerbk o sa3a ledenk “ (trans : a time for u n a time for god)

Neither am I however they do control my actions and morals so that's a huge plus. My only problem with religion is how other people intervene in your life and try to convince you to join their cause.. even friends could do it and there were many times i just treat them like jehovah's witnesses.. slam the door at them (metaphorically of course.. though i wish that it was true :p)

I care for my religion. It's not only religion that makes me do what I do and what I dont do. It's my common sense now.

Our religion is too attached to us, that we dont notice it, thats it for me. Thats why its my common sense. Got too used to religion. It is a part of us.

Im not proudly saying I dont practice my religion all the time, but I am saying it. I think my practice of religion (whatever it was) takes up less than 1%..

I often notice when I go to bed, and once my head is on the pillow how the whole day has passed without me mentioning God's name once!! Saying "Bism Allah" (In Allah's Name), "Al Hamdulilah" (Thank Allah) or "Astaghfar Allah" (Repenting), or even Inshallah and Mashallah... I try to make sure such phrases are always said and heard...To say the least..

As for day-to-day activities and behavior.. I think I don't do certain things mainly because of "morals", "ethics" and "tradition" rather than because my religion doesn't allow me to.

Our religion is too attached to us, that we dont notice it, thats it for me.

I agree with this part and actually think its true.. We are taking our religion for granted, because we're born with it, we fail to notice it at times and fail to remind ourselves all the time..

Im embarrassed at time when I notice Muslem converts actually applying Islam (their new religion) to their day to day lives more than us born-muslems.. :cutemhm:

Religion is a part of me consciencely and actively. I try to participate as much as I can towards my religion, as I know that all of my actions towards religion is all that I will be taking with me when I die....So have to keep up the good will banking.....I am not religious, I follow my religion to my abilities...I pray, fast, read Quran, attend seminars/lectures mostly in the month; Ashura for the remembrance of Ahlil Bayt (as). It only makes me wiser and more knowing to this real world and the hereafter.....Religion also solves all ur problems and our lives is all based on religion....Islam is the way of life....:)

Religion is the way of life, the way I see it. We're not talking just about Islam, are we? We're talking about applying religion (whatever it was) in our daily lives. :)

I like what you said Arabian Bella! :cute:

Totally true !!!

WE born muslims ( most of us not all ) tend to take religion being muslims as granted ... where if you compare it to the new muslims you will find that they do practice Islam in all their life issue !!

To me, Islam controls my actions and behaviour very much! I might not follow everything Islam teaches us, but most of which control my behaviour everyday.

It truly takes a huge part of our lives, we don't notice because we were born and raised this way. As Rossonero said, practicing it made everything common sense.

If one thinks he lacks it, then he/she need to review his/her own life. At the end, you'll notice the good outcome. Relgion is life iI guess, can't live without it.

But for me. I do what a normal muslim would do, and yet some call me very religous yet others say i'm not muslim for listening to music and all. I have no idea how to put a percentage of how good I am, but I could always say, that I need to be better.

that doesn't have to be a bad thing...in fact i see as a good thing...
cause in our religion there is a room to move and it really flexible...and that what makes it immortal...

I'm like Arabian Bella. But there are times I want to do things, but then I just all of a sudden have an enormous fear from Allah, that I get so freaked out, and feel bad for thinking about doing such thing. I'm a mix between what Rossonero and what Arabian Bella said! :p

Unless a person reaches a higher understanding and moral level, he definetly needs religion to guide and control him.

Religion is a huge part of my life, it influences everything from how I spend my day to how I feel about the beauty of nature's smallest creations.

yeah i know its a good thing.. n i always say elhumdela.. n as many said.. we all take relegion for granted coz we werw born like this.. sometimes we do or dont do things then we discover in the end that it was our comen sence that's build on the relegion that giued us ..

It definitely controls my actions and shapes what beliefs, morals and principles I hold. If it didn't, I would have lived my life as how westerners do.

I know that a lot of things we do are supposed to be religious, like even when we eat and sleep and all that, we're supposed to say a prayer. I don't DO everyday things with the consciousness that it's in the name of God, but I do stop myself or turn away from things which go against my religion (like if I were offered alcohol etc...) because I know it's haram.

Anyways, like Rosso said, I don't even do that consciously most of the time, I'm just used to it.
So it's hard to give a percentage on that.
