I was convincing myself not to fear death :D, I was thinking..

Why do we fear death? we know it's coming sooner or later, and, I personally, don't want to be immortal..

Why do we fear it then?

...well i dont know about anyone else but why im scared is cuz im scared of changes and i wouldnt wanna not see my loved ones anymore and i know im going to hell EVEYONE is ^_^

i guess we're scard of death coz we know that then we'll have to face with everything that we ave done on earth ... n that's the fina distination for us... no go bk.. n what we do today is gonnna place us either in heaven or in hell ( god forbid ) ..

We fear death by instinct. Some have gone over this instinct though, but those are just a few exceptions.

(Sarcasim): Like me for example, I have lost the will to live... Simply nothing more to give.

(Another Sarcasim): I was born to die.

I don't fear the transition of death I just fear the word eternity or forever more... Everytime I read the quran about spending an infinite amount of time in hell, it just really creeps me out.. I think thats why most people are afraid of death... then again many people (myself included :p) have materialistic souls and do not want to lose what they have gained in this life which wouldn't matter whether they worked hard for it or acquired it easily.

When I think of death, i get a bit scared. When I think of after-life (hoping to go to heaven), I get scared..why? Because if I go to heaven i'd spend immortality in heaven, there will be no end, or spend my life in hell.

Scared of the end, and scared of no ending..

The thing that really scares the devil out of me is not knowing if I'm landing in Hell (God forbid) or Heaven. But also, knowing that I cannot fix anything I've done, so I'm going to have to deal with it.

I'm Scared of 3athab al qabr ( grave punishment ) to be honest and after that the whole atmosphere of judgement day... in each prayer i ask got to avoid those two things from me and to let me be with the anbya2 n 9edeqeen and shohadaa2 ameen!

we fear it cuz we don't know what it's like... or what comes after it... Or how it feels like to die and lose your soul...
and to be honest... dying doesn't look like a pleasant thing to go through most of the time

anyone would be afraid of a new experience :p...

cause its our nature to want to live!

most ppl who fear death are the ones who are not prepaird well for death and the judgment day...and the fact of sleeping under the ground until God only knows when!

and also the way God described the judgment day and the torture of the grave freaks everyone out !

i wouldnt mind being immortal but only if i maintain my youth. :P but since death is coming today or ten years from now, i think its feared because its the end of this life on earth. the end of the only world you'v known... because death is a whole other world...where everyone eventually forgets about u..or a world that u may pass on to, leaving your enemies and loved ones behind. its just seen as the end of life..
its not thought of as the beginning of the next life.
personally i dont fear death itself.. i just fear dying violent deaths..in pieces..or alone.. or in the most excruciating pain... its the way of death that scares me more. =)

most people who are dying would ask themselves:
"Are you ready to meet your Maker?"
well...?

we fear death for the same reason we fear other things. we have no control over it. we dont have a say what happens after death. that is the root cause of all this fear.

I'm scared of HOW i'm going to die, I don't think I'm scared of actual death. It's daunting cos no one ever came back to tell us what it's like (unless you really believe tabloid papers), but since no one can tell me what it's like to be dead, I've decided that it's not a painful or scary thing at all. If I thought otherwise, then I would be freaking out about ... nothing really.

We fear it would come sooner than later, thats all. coz you're afraid of all the things you did in your life.

We fear death because we don't know when our time will come and we don't know our fate...I think that a person is wise if he/she is affraid of death because he/she constantly reminds her/himself to do the rightous as they could be pulled away from this life at any time.

I would agree with BM also... laking faith, as long as you got enough faith in Allah you will never get fair of death cause you know what Allah wrote for you is the best for you.

I fear the way am going to die, and what will happen afterwards...jus the thought of it makes me cry.

We fear what we don't know I guess.

And ofcourse each is afraid of not going to heaven, and of the punishment. We rarely find those who have what it takes, who truly beleive, those who are not afraid of death and would want it I guess.

May be cause we like to live....some ppl walk to death...and some even kill themselves (suicide) just cause the y don't like living anymore

So, cause we really like to live, we have plans, future and lots of thing to do...:cool: :angel:

it's coming :that is reality & we must not fear. however, we must fear it at the same time :os cose we'll leave ppl who love us and need us & who we love alone in this life. it's very hard for some ppl to live without us :rolleyes:

I fear death only because I am not prepared yet. I wish I could be a better Muslim and then I would have no fear of death. If I die now, I am definately going to Hell. May Allah prolong my life!
