Well this thread is for all the parents out there and if you are not a parent, put urself in a parents shoe for 2min and tell me what u think.

Supposedly you have a child/ren and they are very mischievious, to an extent where they are uncontrollable on a regular basis and one of ur family members felt that they had the right to scream or lay their hands on child/ren.

How would you react?

Would you argue with that family member? or Would you say nothing @ all?

Would you be upset or consider that your child/ren deserved it?

If my family member is immediate family, or close to me.. i'd know that it's in their best interest to shape the child into a good human being.. soo depending on the extent of the screaming/punishment i'd let it slide.. if i was going to do the same thing to the kid, then the person just saved me the effort by doing it themselves.
That's only if i think the child deserved it.. if not - i guess i'd confront the family member.

Looking at the situation objectively, I would say that only the parents have the right to do that, but seeing the situation first-hand, I realized that when people say that it takes a village to raise a child, it's really really true. Especially true with kids who have behavioral problems.

I'd stop that family member.. no body.. NO BODY should interfere with my way of teaching my child.. True there has been tonnes of times i wish i did that to little kids but i don't let myself go.. besides it would also weaken my authority in front of the child. I'd still have my own ways to take care of a mischievious child if i had one..

I won't like that anyone behaving my child other then me, but if my child is real brat, I won't mind my mom or my husband mom to have their say. But if someone else I'll probably ask to them not to interfere. And how do I know that they are helping the child, maybe they are just angry at the child and want to get off some steam at my baby ...

I might ask why..?? argue for a couple of seconds(to show the child I care..:P)..then let the whole inncident pass Like nothing happened...But if it happens again..HOLY CRAP..! these are the only words to describe the things that will happen..HOLY CRAP..!!

ok seriously.. i dont know how to deal with naughty kids.. i guess ill just smack them... i tried it with my cuzin but it still didnt work .. i dont know how to controll kids.. or maybi u can just make them afraid from something n always threten them with it ????

it depends on the family member.... if its 1 of my parents thn i wouldnt mind, bcuz i know they wouldnt do something like tht if they child didnt deserve it... & i guess i wouldnt mind it if my siblings did it as well, however it depends on the situation...
i believe in the saying "it takes a village 2 raise a child"... bcuz even as parents sumtimes u might not realise tht ur child needs abit of tweaking in certain areas bcuz ur so used 2 wut ur already doing, so it takes an outsider 2 point it out 2 u... nothing wrong with tht :)
