In the past few months, the Oman Football Association (OFA) has taken several measures for promoting and popularising not only the game of soccer but also the nationals teams and the players. The decision to rope in Gulf Air as the national team sponsor in a multi-million dollar deal was one such measure. But the OFA's latest move is being made with twin objectives of promotion and profit-making. For the first time, Oman's soccer governing body appointed an official supplier of clothes and other accessorites for the national teams when they signed an agreement with the Muscat Sports. The three-year deal inked by OFA chief Shaikh Khalil bin Ahmed al Khalili and Muscat Sports General Manager Mohammed al Busaidi at the Sheraton Oman Hotel yesterday, makes the sports goods company the first official supplier of the Oman national teams. As per the agreement the Muscat Sports will now be sole supplier for the national teams and they will exclusively supply the teams with Lotto team wear, footwear and accessories for use at the official matches, training sessions, during travel and their stay at the hotels during the tournaments. Chief guest Rashad bin Ahmed al Hinai, Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Sports Affairs, looks at the Lotto team wear after officially unveiling them after the signing ceremony. OFA TO GOT FIVE PER CENT PROFIT Giving the details of the deal, OFA chief Shaikh Khalil said: "Obviously we are happy to have an official supplier for our teams and Muscat Sports was a good choice." "Muscat Sports will now take care of all the requirements of our national teams. They will be providing us with Lotto clothes, shoes and other accessories," he added. "This deal with Muscat Sports will also be beneficial in other aspects like promoting Oman soccer and players both in the region and at the international level. The Italian company Lotto has been involved in this business for several years and now we can benefit from that experience. "This partnership will not only lead to popularising the Oman soccer but the invididual players by way of merchandising." Shaikh Khalil also said that now the Oman national teams will be included in the Lotto catalogue and they will be part of the Lotto exhibitions held regularly around the world. "More imporatantly the OFA will also get five per cent of profits made by Muscat Sports while selling the products locally and other parts of the world," he said. "As per the agreement, Muscat Sports will sell all products of the teams in different qualities and different price ranges as so to reach the all segments of the society," he added. Mohammed al Busaidi, meanwhile, said that Muscat Sports was 'proud to be annouce the new partnership with the OFA'. "We can not wait to start this new alliance with the young and dynamic Omani soccer team. We hope to reach new goals with the national teams," he said.

Another great step by Oman Football Association, having a full supply for the sportswear is really great as it was a problem at a time.
Lotto the company where the national team will wear their products doesnt come at the 1st place, if we compare it to the other brands. But, it has been providing their products to some well known teams at a time, even Ukraine & Serbia and Montenegro were wearing them in this World Cup.
The great thing about this deal is that Lotto will make sure to include Oman in their shows.
Another step into the professional football!
