I was watching the news yesterday, and saw this reallly confusing segment about these people who are peddling the Christian Bible under the title of "Jesus Loves Porn Stars" ...

I only watched the last part of the segment, so I don't understand what the justification was for such a title, but I really feel like there cannot possibly be any justification for such an offensive title...

I'm not even a Christian and I'm offended... What's the reason for creating such a Bible?

What do you think of these antics?

"An online ministry to the pornography industry has entered a verbal agreement to distribute 10,000 copies of the popular New Testament paraphrase "The Message" that will feature a cover declaring "Jesus Loves Porn Stars."

The ministry, XXXchurch, approved a tentative deal with NavPress publishers to distribute the copies at three pornography conventions, said Craig Gross, one of the two pastors who started the ministry in 2002."

As we've seen with the Danish cartoons, even freedom of speech has boundaries, and those boundaries arise when the 'freedom' starts to diminish other people's sacred beliefs.
I don't think it's fair or respectful for someone to make a mockery out of anyone's beliefs in the name of 'freedom of speech'. Not everything in the world can be caricatured or summarized into some kitschy title.

Before we go on about how AWFUL this is check out this point:

You see, Jesus loves porn stars as much as he loves pastors, soccer moms, liars, thieves, and prostitutes. In his eyes, we are all the same. We're all just people in need of a savior who can come into our world and fix our messed-up lives."

This isn't about them making a mockery of Jesus (although they unintentionally are, sadly) but about porn stars and the likes of people who are leading unorthodox (to put it midly) lives and just want to be accepted because they don't know any better!

Sacred belief.
The thought related to values.
Values differs, varies.
Interestingly, all the values has become commodity.

The title of the book, however, is pretty much intentionally misleading. To the majority of the people who won't read the book, it would seem like they're saying that Jesus would have been ok with it... Christianity might be about forgiving and compassion, but there is a point where all that forgiving just turns you into a doormat.

I guess, according to them, Its like saying that all human beings are God's servants, even the porn stars are human beings after all AND servants of God :os its not suitable tho

I do think they're human beings as well and were probably in most cases pushed into that path due to their poor circumstances but I am against the label 'jesus loves porn stars' its like they're ignoring everyone else and just focusing on this specific group which is wrong and kinda gives the impression that they're encouraging the whole porn industry.

Jesus is nothing but a commodity, advertising tools to them.
Profit is the motto.
Though there are many Christian will not like it.

... this whole thing revolved around "they who did this"... online ministry of pornography? who ARE they?? ...

The benefit was trying to lead hopeless people in a misleading way? :mmhmm:
I think a change in title would reduce all the confusion there.
