What are some of the decent online websites where we can buy stuff? Are they safe and what about customs problems and shipping? Is it a big hassle?

I've never shopped online (although I'm really tempted at times) but, I guess it's safe because my friend shops online A LOT! They order things from the States, and they get it with no hassle. I think it's safe, depending on how you're ordering it (through what.. etc;).

www.ebay.com

Safe, no shipment hastle and products quiet cheap, because theres this bidding option, I know someone who bought a "good" Toshiba laptop for only a hundred bucks.

ive bought from lots of places. Amazon.com is a good start. ebay.com is mostly safe, but ive been screwed over once before - you gotta be a little careful with ebay. When ebaying, always look at reputation, try to buy more from ebay shops than sellers, etc. You get the hang of it. books, theres www.abebooks.com or www.greenmetropolis.com, though I dont know if they ship outside the UK. Worth investigating as you can get stuff cheaper than amazon there.

interesting.. though what about the laws of specific countries? Since I know that Egypt really has some annoying customs when products go in the country... heck even DVDS! apparently it becomes "under observation by the ministry of information to see if it is islamically acceptable or not"

I've been using Ebay.com and Amazon for quite some while, hopefully i'll try Music123.com for my new guitar. I've bought some electronics, books and music cds previously and recieved everything in ship-shape condition.

one thing i know about online shopping is that it's really easy to get ripped off or screwed over. also, i've heard quality is not that good and ebay can be a bit unreliable at times. but this is based on what i've heard. i've never shopped online and dont intend to

special, you can shop online from Oman, even if they dont ship to Oman, try using Aramex they could sort you out...

If you want to save abit of money, and have a credit card, shop online...

i wouldnt shop at sites i dont trust, always look for well know company names before giving in your credit card details...

i used to buy online using NBO web shopper card (Master Card) its excellent..
u can limit the card cridet as u like for example i deposit 50 rial thats mean even if some one stole my cridet card number he can't use it more than 50 rial ...

i think its safe to use the cridet card if u have updated antiviruse and Anti spyware plus good firewale ..

I love shopping online, at first i was very scared, but then I just got experienced on it. Paypal make it now even easier, you can shop from any website more securely. you open an account, you enter your credit card number, get it activated, chose which service you would like to have according to your needs, it was not open before for Oman, but now it is,so you can now buy from e-bay.com cuz most of the sellers sell through paypal.
if you want to know more information you can go to the website :

I would do lots of shopping on line in the UK, and it was excellent..

I've just ordered around 10 books from amazon to be delivered to oman, let's see how that works out..

i was addicted to it when i was in the uk. it worked all the way through apart from tiny radio from ebay! it wasn't delivered! as a result, i never trusted ebay thereafter!
