Teeth grinding isn't a serious problem unless it happens frequently & cause damage to the teeth, the cause of it is not clear & it can be prevented by using a guard for the teeth, anyone suffering from it can get it from a dentist I believe or a local pharmacy, just ask for a mouth guard

Snoring is much more common & the incidence increases with age as the neck structure get weaker & more relaxed with age, other causes are obstruction of the nose, large tonsils, large adenoids, long uvula, obesity...etc

Recurrent obstruction of breathing can be a serious problem due its effect on the heart

^temporarily they do.. all their muscles get in their neck and nasal area become relaxed. as soon as this happens, your mouth starts to open and you wake up drooling faster than niagara falls. with your mouth open, your body starts to suck air more because it is gasping for breath and your heart rate hightens. For me, lately, that thing that looks like a punching bag hanging inside your mouth has become a bit of a problem. that piece begins to be more hanging and lose and it hurts a lot because it sometimes can get stuck in your throat..you also involuntarily try to swallow it.. which hurts even more.. i heard of an operation where you can remove that piece but without it, you can't speak german, hebrew or arabic :p

most of this has to do with sleep apnea.

Sometimes I snore and sometimes I dont, depends on if I'm relaxed or tired before I sleep.

I suffer from teeth grinding which is called Bruxism.

It is involuntary and is caused by stress, the first sign is a sore jaw when you wake up.

Slowly your teeth will get worn down, my dentist made me a mouth gaurd made of a special rubber which I wear when I sleep so I don't wear down my teeth. And the mouth gaurd is very sug and comfy, he had to take impressions of it so he could get the perfect fit over my teeth.

It happen's when your in a deeep sleep....wallah it feels like 10 pounds is resting on ur jaw then you start 'moving' ur teeth but u cant really move them only grindand your trying to get rid of that '10 pounds' resting on ur jaw... Now they invented some rubber thingy you put on your teeth at night when you sleep so when you do grind it doesnt ruin your teeth... looooool when my brother starts ' talking' in his sleep .. he's always yelling ... at me... loool... I dunno y me ALL the time but me... looooool...

People who have sharp k9's dunt grind their teeth... but people who dont have sharp k9's grind their teeth but dunt think they do .. bet you didnt know that :P

You cannot judge if you are snoring or not... ask someone who sleeps with you in the same room. Snoring occurs when you are unconscious

one of the problems associated with teeth grinding is chronic headache...

one of the common causes of snoring is Obesity... as Hitman said above snoring can cause problem.
sleep studies done here On Omani showed recurrent sleep apnea (no breathing) attacks in snoring subjects. Most commonly in obese but it does occur in non-obese individuals.

nasal adenoids and tonsil can cause also snoring..

Actually, those that have flat canines could be BECAUSE of grinding, not the other way around. If a person who has a sharp canine cusp edge and starts grinding it, with time, the canine, and all the other teeth, will start wearing off.
