View Full Version : Threads Merged?
Fast_HacKinG 22-06-06, 01:33 AM I think I'm in the good mood to complain today! :6:
Ok, my thread, which I started earlier today, has been merged with a thread (http://www.englishsabla.com/forum/showthread.php?t=36525) that's (somehow) not related to my thread. Kamakazy's thread was initially talking about Windows Live Mail and the MSN Messenger 8.0 Beta, whilst my thread was talking about the official release of Windows Live Messenger (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Live_Messenger) ( Formerly known as MSN Messenger ). The current version of MSN Messenger is 8.0.0787 and it's not the BETA anymore, it is potential official release. I even provided the very official website (http://messenger.msn.com) of MSN Messenger and everything is just clear right there, why people claim to be hipsters :mmhmm:
The older version of MSN Messenger (7.5.0328) cannot be downloaded anymore. I just need clear explanation why both threads merged? They don't even serve the same purpose. Or only moderators can post threads of certain official release? :XD:
NiGhTFaCe 22-06-06, 01:53 AM I merged the threads because they are releated & not as you claimed they are not.
The two threads are talking about Windows Live Services. I dont see why they shouldnt be merged even your thread was about announcing the official launch.
Kamakazy 22-06-06, 11:55 AM i dont mind my thread being merged with yours Fast Hacking... even though our threads are different in the program that they are talking about, they are related in being an update in the Windows Live...

LMAO, why don't we have a thread about the whole IT topics? :hyper:
Reverend IT and Sport Moderator, Mr. Nightface; Kamakazy's thread is actually talking about two different topics, Beta of Windows Live Mail and Windows Live Messenger. Some posts were talking about Mail Service and some about the Beta Messenger. Yes, they're ones of Windows Live Services but they're different services. My thread was about the final official release of WLM with links provided to the official overview, features, system requirement and the whole website.
If you think threads that talk about products from a company should wholly be in one thread, then we needn't to open threads about, for instance, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc but just make a thread call it Adobe Products. Members and visitors like to easily navigate through, instead of giving them hardship to find certain topics. Actually, this is the point of having a whole individual forum for IT and the button "POST NEW THREAD"
I don't think my thread should be split again, 'cause it is spoiled now and the credits go all to you. MSN were recently having service stability problems and members thought that are because of the application and not the connectivity.
Not to contradict what you said, why don't you change the title of that thread to Windows Live Services? Just in case any member one day want to post about any other Windows Live Service would post it there, instead of so-called new thread. ;)
Kamakazy: I don't mind merging mine either, but obviously yours was about the beta and mine was about the final official release. Generally speaking, members and visitors like to navigate easily without using the search feature or else. I don't see it any harm having new whole thread about the official release, because we simply wants to share comments and reviews.
I read fast_hackings reply and I think he does have a valid point:os

First of all, I can see that you mention the word moderator a lot, so either you like it or you hate it, after all enjoy it :D
You are saying different services, how they are different?! Arent we are talking about the same Windows Live Messenger, which a beta version before where it got mentioned in the 1st thread & your thread was about announcing the official release of the same product, tell me how they are different services?!
MSN released new product or lets say new services package called Live or Windows Live, the question now is it harm to have all the news/updates about this service in one thread?! I think having in one thread will make it easy for the members to check & search.
The example you gave of Adobe is invalid, because simply its a company which provides different products, & we can have different threads for different products, where our case is having all the news of this product in one thread, I dont think my action is to apply all MSN products in one thread.
You are funny, who said we are going to split the threads?! :D
The thread got ruined because of me?! How?! The members faced a problem with the new messenger, & they tried to find a solution which was by going back to the earlier version. Again how merging the threads has something to do with this?!
Anyways, I am taking your suggestion of changing the title to Windows Live Services, just for the sake of making it clear for the members, & I am thanking you for that :)
Fast_HacKinG 26-06-06, 01:54 PM What a PID and lame reply you got there. It's very impolite to call someone funny while s/he is inquiring and giving suggestions. My previous post above is very clear, I wonder why other Moderators are not responding. Your reply does not serve a convicing solution.
I'm not going to talk further on this, re-read what I posted above. Kamakazy was talking about MAIL and MESSENGER BETAS and I was talking about FINAL OFFICIAL WLM which people were awaiting it so long and it worth new thread for god's sake, WHATSOEVER!
I just can't believe that a single thread is talking about Windows Live Services, people open whole forum dedicated to each services while in the legendary(word of the day :p) forum, ENGLISHSABLA FORUMS, have a one poor thread talking about Windows Live Servies (http://www.ideas.live.com/), how idiotic and pathetic?

NiGhTFaCe 26-06-06, 05:50 PM Instead of replying to my points, you used the words Lame, Idiotic & Pathetic, and you are calling me Impolite for using the word Funny.
Thank you anyways :D
Dont mess with Night Face, hes an assasin... Not a good one though.
I think that this issue is over and fast_hacking said what he wants to say. Locked to avoid further flaming.
