I am sure some girls find an "aww" emotion when they see a guy cry, because its a rare sign of his sensitivity which they want. But in the long run most of us don't want a guy who cries much. Its our basic understanding that a man who cries alot and shows most of his emotions is less capable of taking care of us.

Personally, I don't want a guy who cries. I cry at stupid things, last I need is someone sharing the already 3/4 empty kleenex box. But more importantly I find it attractive when a man can control his emotions.. not just attractive, necessary.

Because too nice guys rarely come across as confident. Like I said earlier, women want a man who is in control and capable of taking care of things. If he seems too nice and without confidence, we doubt his capablity. It is not that women like mean men, but the "bad guys" (anyone thinking of Jean preferring Wolverine to Scott in X-Men?) are more alluring because of their confidence and ease in which they handle things. That's my guess on it but I could be wrong.

It all depends on the prespective of the girl. Sometimes the social norm motivates alot on what is seen as "hot" and what is seen as " lousy"...take for instance, a girl like myself might believe that being urself and challenging the common sense of what a guy must display--is seen as a lot of confidence...why? because he's showing what must be hidden....whereas, the society sees that a man showing his emotions may be seen as a gay etc...hence cross him from the list of charming ppl:p

bottom line- it all depends on the scale he's projecting..like if he's overdoing it " displaying his emotions" then it might be a drawback....

finally, you should bare in mind...this snooky...impression plays a role...sometimes if there is this powerful relation and this positive vibe...you'd see everything lousy positive and vice-versa...in other words, what is the sense of acceptance to this x-person...maybe if he's just an angel n u cant stand him...you'd not stand him...n if he's the an absolute jerk...and ur :heart: accepts him...ud overlook his flaws:XD:

MK...regardless of the gender issue we're imposing here..there is this idea of "scaricity"....when there is a lot of something we tend to devalue it....so when ppl ( galz, boys) show extra sweetness ppl may not see this attitude as challenging...and thus they wont be attached/ hooked...however, those who are supposedly mean..they are rare and thus it gets u to a disequilbrium phase where u want to please the one who'se making u suffer ( that's why u might think that girls prefer mean guys)...but again as i said it's a matter of perception :XD:

Because nice guys are usually sensitive and in touch with their emotions (too much), and they don't have as much confidence as the mean guys.
Also, personally, I'd prefer the mean guy because I am more mean than nice myself. I know I'd just mistreat the nice guy.

-Good looking guys are usually more confidant, and girls like guys who are sure of themselves.

-If a good looking guy somehow is shy, that's even more intriguing, because it's unusual :p

-If a guy isn't classified as good looking, but is genuinely a good guy, sure of himself, and FUNNY, he will come off as attractive.

-Some guys seem perfect but girls only think of them as friends, because if the guy is toooo comfortable around the girl, then there's none of that awkwardness that comes with emotional attraction. Therefore, some people assume that since there's no awkwardnes, there's no romantic attraction. And sometimes it's just not meant to be.

But.. Regarding Abs Q on remembering dates, Monkiette, sometimes I do remember TRIVIAL dates! Something like, "oh I drank slush last year on this day!" .. Don't ask why, it's just the way I am. I often remember a date because I connect it to something that had happened on that day, so I recall everything happening with it!

As for more important dates (but still trivial to guys :p) Like Birthdays, anniversaries, etc.. I used to put lots of effort in remembering all those dates! but now, it just comes naturally, you'd find me remembering our maid's birthday.. who stopped working for us 10 years ago!!!! :os

If they are already in a relationship, then no i don't think so. a relationship involves two partners, both need to give in 50% percent and complete the full 100%. Both romantic and sweet gestures should be released from the guy and the girl.

mmm, interesting - personally i would really appreciate it, and i would do the best i can to please him too, BUT his madness has to have limits, cos some of them demand calling 24/7, and saying i love you every after a sentence, and misbehaving if you havent answered one of his phone calls. Basically he should be tolerable.

One advice - guys should try their best not to over show their feelings cos some gals take advantage, some get choked!! :o

I don't think it's something that can be changed easily. I mean, if this is the way someone is, he won't be able to start acting differently all of a sudden. I might give him a chance to show me that he can stop being that way, but it is very likely he won't be able to, and I'll just have to end things.

exactly what i wanted to say! snooky no way would i want a guy like that! je would drive me crazy.. i once knew this guy who was my friend.. who was very sweet and all.. but WOULD not stop calling me every 5 seconds and would not STOP telling me how pretty my eyes were etc.. it was so irritating.. i want a guy i can have a normal conversation with, one i can be friends with.. that intrigues me and makes me want him more.. not less..

The standard? Do you want me to list the qualities? If so, he should be academically educated, intellectual , moderately religious (prays 5 times a day etc) and fears God, from a good family, physically attractive to me, considerate, loving, has the same values as I do, has a good job and all the good qualities we ladies sought after :p
