Although today is not really 666 but 6 6 2006, I would like to ask what is the significance of 666 in christianity?

Is there any documentation to back this up? like the bible or learned scholars?

This 666 stuff is bullpoo. It's just a number made by some really jobless people who probably started the chainmail fun.

The devil is nothing but an angel who went the wrong side of evil, and will receive his due punishment when the time comes. Whether he cries 666 or 999, he will suffer.

'666' is the "number of the beast", that is the anti-christ, as John babbled about in Revelations (the last book of the New Testament, which reads like the ravings of a college kid on an LSD high) ... just part of the whole 'end times' mythology. Some bizarre, poorly educated born-again Christians have turned this into a superstition about the very use of the number - did you know that in the US, we don't use 666 as a telephone prefix and if it comes up as part of your license plate number you can request a different number? Also some hotels and cities will skip the number 666 in their progression of room or street numbers.

there is something i did notice about 666. if you modify the number on the right by omitting the left part of the O shape in the number you get the K sound in arabic. if you take the number in the middle and disconnect the O part from the line on top, you get the F sound in arabic. if you take the one on the left and make a 180 degree tilt and make it look like a C mirror, you will get the R sound in arabic.

put it all together and you get KFR or infadel. The Beast/Masseeh Adajaal does have the KFR writen on his forehead. after his passing, the creature (Daabah) will emearge and it will place KFR on the forehead of the nonbelievers.

then again, its just a number. i would not lose sleep over it.

what i can understand is that the Masseh Adajal to muslims is the same as The Beast to christans and the Messaiah to the jews. the nature of the Masseh (or Maskh meaning Beast) is a bit different to the religions. Christains (i think) believe he is the king of the deamons who will do battle with God/Jesus in the coming of the Apocolypse. the Jews think that the Messaiah is their saviour and he will crush all their enemies and win back Zion or a jewtopia of sorts. Islam Views Adajal as a man who is granted great power from God so that he will be like the ultimate trial of faith. in the end, Jesus will come down from heaven with a spear to vanquish the abomenation.
