Sort out the demons in your own back yard

All religions without exception have their demons.
Christianity suffered in the past and is suffering now. Judaism is also being failed by its practioners. Islam gave us 9/11 and 7/7 and beheadings.
The simple fact is that whatever our religion and whichever authority we believe in, doesn't in the final analysis mean a thing if we don't tackle the fundamental human weaknesses and egocentric demons that infect us all - anger, vanity, covetness, greed, hatred, pride, ignorance. We all share these with one or two exceptions which are as rare as hens teeth.

So rather than spend energy picking holes in each others religions, and having childish rants we would all do well to focus on the demons within.
This is our common ground and heritage.

Lets instead exchange the wisdom contained within our religions on how to tackle these demons. Then perhaps we can all progress.

I've already apologised for my mindless attacks on Islam, but I would like to see a more constructive dialogue with muslims and those of other faiths rather than these puerile and pointless exchanges that seem to be our daily bread on this board.

Is anyone up for a maturer dialogue?

No Amo - I am merely rather tired of the assinine level of discussion which seeks merely to trash the others religion. Most followers of whatever religion have their own demons to deal with. Assuming there is some wisdom within the Koran, New Testament and Bible, we would advance discussions by sharing passages which deal with some of these demons outlined above.

The whole point of this thread was an open invitation to all religious viewpoints to find out what words of wisdom each may contribute to the common demons of greed, anger, hatred, envy etc.

Some dreadful things were done in the name of Christianity - the poor indian tribesmen in America when the Spanish went in were killed and treated worse then cattle. I really doubt that any understanding would take place between the muslims and non-muslims on this board. Both parties seem to be too proud to admit when they make no sense at all and when they are clearly wrong. This whole thing between the extreme (or perhaps even hypocrytical) muslims and the non-muslims is just getting really silly and it's time both sides started acting their age and stopped attacking each other and trying to prove each other wrong. Everyone has his own personal beliefs so respect that..and if you have any questions about it then don't ask in a sarcastic way. It's really sad to see grown men and women acting like children all the time.

I don't want to turn this thread into a discussion on my personal beliefs , the purpose of the thread was to respect each others beliefs and start discussing religious issues in a mature way..so perhaps we should get back to that instead of everyone focusing on my simple opinion.
