I came to know about him from a professor in my college. I started watching his lectures on Qtv and Peace tv. Peace tv actually belongs to IRF as I heard.

To be honest, I don't think there is a living person who has so much knowldge about all the religions as well as the sciences. MashaAllah :)

As for his lectures, if it is true, I encourage all the non-muslims living in Oman to please kindly come forward and attend his talks. If anyone requires any help going to his talks, I would be more than happy to guide them. Please, all non-muslims go to this talk, if not to understand Islam better, then to understand your own religion better.

:)

He is called "Deedat plus" ;).
Indeed 'deen has men' as they say, one go and other will come to raise the word of Allah and spread the truth.

Sheikh Ahmed Deedat, the world famous orator on Islam and Comparative Religion, who had called Dr. Zakir, "Deedat plus" in 1994, presented a plaque in May 2000 awarded to Dr. Zakir Abdul-Karim Naik for his achievement in the field of Da’wah and the study of Comparative Religion with the engraving "Son what you have done in 4 years had taken me 40 years to accomplish. Alhamdullilah.”

You can find many of his lectures in below link:

Don't you find it odd that Dr. Naik, supposedly a hot shot preacher, on top of his craft, didn't have an answer ready to something as fundamental as "How can you prove that the Qur'an is the word of God?

I dont, as a muslim I dont need proof that the Quran is the world of good, whether he provided that proof or not I dont care. As a muslim, I need a scholar who would teach me about my religion more .. If I attend his lecture, I will let you know if I think he is a hot shot preacher or not.

Here is a proof!

From the web site :

This web site is dedicated to the worlds leading Di'e (Propagator) of Islam and scholar on world religions,

and more

He is the main driving spirit, Alhamdulillah, behind the Islamic Research Foundation getting worldwide acclaim for the proper presentation, understanding and clarification of Islam, as well as for removing misconceptions about Islam.

Though a Medical Doctor by professional training, he has dedicated his life to spread the truth of Islam worldwide, specially amongst millions of English knowing audiences. At only 40 years, Dr. Zakir explains the teachings of Islam as well as convincingly clears misconceptions about Islam with references from the Quran and Sahih Hadith, and with the help of Reason, Logic and Science. He has a tremendous ability to quote extensively and verbatim from the Glorious Quran, and from other religious scriptures.

So you see, his main audience are non moslems, whom he wishes to bring into the fold.

After reading his resume and then finding he has no answer as yet to a fundamental issue, is to so the least, not very convincing.

I'd ask for my money back if I were you.

wudjab
09-04-06, 08:27 PM
That might be it.

But, if for example, you go to class being taught by a Professor of Maths and you ask "What is 2 + 2" and he tells you "I will tell you about that later, God Willing", would you like to continue in that class ?

wudjab, we were kind enough to offer u a ticker, a visa, free stay and even security, why dont u come to Oman for a couple of days and ask him all this face to face?

It is impossible to convince a child that candy is bad for his teeth, they will keep on coming up with reasons to justify eating candy is good, but later, when the right time comes, you will realise that candy is actually bad, and then we will be the ones who will take u to the dentist, why? Because we Muslims are peaceful and kind and our aim is for the ignorant to learn the truth.

Sweety,
his talk was about Islam and Science and how there is nothing in the Quran that contradicts scientific facts. He talked about different fieds of science (embrology, astronomy, physics, medicine,.. )

In his question and answer session, he allowed non muslims to ask any questions not necessery related to the topic. He was very confident in answering them, giving them links to the hindu scripture and the bible. He is knowledgable mashallah.

I couldn't attend too but inshaAllah i'll try atending tomorow coz i don't think i have a chance today :(

I want to ask u ppl a favour plz for the sake of wudjy
plz ask Mr. Naik to answer the question:
Prove that Quraan is the word of Allah

OffTopic: Wudjab if u tried reading Quraan u'll find amazing things
it talks about reality scientific facts
such as: how the baby is created and about night and day and about planets
and medical facts
and science prooved it
some of the scientists who proved these information are correct are even non-muslim

do u think ppl from thousand years ago knew all these information??

and mind also Prophet Mohammad PBUH did not know how to read or write
do u think he just made up these true things??it's clearly not words of human beings...

BTW people, I have his channel which was launched few months back called Peace tv. I have watching is for the last month or so and Masha'Allah it is a very unique and different Channel.

The topic today is about Universal Brotherhood, and I have seen this talk on his channel, it is a very good talk but if there are no non-muslims, the whole question and answers session would be dry. So, as I said earlier, I invite all non-Muslims to come :)

As for tomorrow's topic, I request everybody to come and bring as many people with you. I have seen his talk about tomorrow's topic and it is one of the best.

Peace and May Allah Keep Dr. Zakir save for the Muslim World. Ameen :)

Queeny, if you go thru the forum and look up past discussions on the scientific truths in the Quran you will find quite a lot of posts which could prove no scientific truth.

Well
maybe is because am in love with Khalfan but this guy i didn't like
Yes he has an incredible knowledge on Quran and all other scriptures so he presents every matter with written words, one cannot argue
But he is too academic
Also Sheikh Khalfan became boring tonite
Anyway the lectures will be available in dvd at the Centre for Islamic Culture
