View Full Version : Singers who deserved more success?
There are so many 'one hit wonders' out there or artists who barely had any success over the years yet there are others who make it seem like a piece of cake to be successful ( 50 Cent , the game..etc ).
So which artists do you think deserved more mainstream success?
A few of the ones I can think of now :
Imogen heap / frou frou
Anggun (where is she now?)
Jon Secada
Martika
Darren Hayes
Shola Ama
Will list more once I remember.

Jon Secada
Darren Hayes
I agree about these two, they should get more. Though I heard one song only by Anggun, so I cant tell more. She did "Saviour" apart of "Transporter 2" soundtracks.

Shola AmaI'm guessing most of them, if not all, are female in that list. So maybe they should quit trying and just appear along-side 50 cent and the Game to hit big time? ;) (Maybe a female version of candy shop? LOL!)
lol..whatever shinoda. So what if they're female? and anyways.. jon secada and darren hayes are MALE singers ( whom sometimes sound like women to be honest :p ).
--------
Nightface : Check out 'Snow on the sahara' by Anggun...It's one of my all time faves.
--------
P.F : Check out Frou Frou's Album 'Details' it's just amazing...and while u're at it check out Imogen Heaps solo album 'Speak for yourself' one of the years best releases.

I also think that Darren Hayes and Shola Ama DESERVE SERIOUS SUCCESS.
I also can't get enough of the Danish "Maria" - the girl that had the album "My Soul".

She got an amazing voice! Though she needs for better producers, some of the tracks in her album "Snow on the Sahara" dont fit her voice, & the style she can take.
I downloaded the song, & its just great!

I think all deserve except the ones on MTV,especially those who sing very fast using weird form of English language, and tend to be in love with F word...those should never ever given a chance on TV or even Radio or even Newspaper.

Although I think ALOT of people won't agree with me, but Alanis Morissette deserves more success. "Jagged Little Pill" was monumental, but from there, her success plungered down.
Actually , I agree with you wit. Her last album should have done alot better than it did.

LOL! This reminds me of this friend of mine, her fantasy is kidnap craig david and keep him locked on her house's basement as her slave. She purrs everytime she hears his voice.
I guess she isn't the only one who has a softspot for singers with luscious voices ;)
Oum Kalthoum.........
She could sing any of those MTV ****s under the table in a second........
In my humble opinion anyway, and she never had to perform in her underwear!!!!!
